Hamas is a terrorist organization and does nothing to help the Palestinian people. Israel is indiscriminately leveling a city with absolutely zero regard for innocent lives.
Maybe this situation is full of nuance and grey areas that a single tweet or article or comic can’t fully encapsulate.
Hamas is the the elected ruling group of Palestine. Even referring to the current Israeli government and army as Israel, but then making a distinction between Hamas and Palestine is hypocritical.
They “governed” in the gaza strip, yes, but when was the last election exactly? In 2006 they got in power, then they murdered their political opponents and have kept their power through force ever since

Except that’s the entire point everyone is having with you. That it’s the average people and NOT the ruling bodies who keep dying in droves in this conflict. That seems to be the thing that you are missing. The greater number of folks dying from this conflict aren’t the ones that any nation would define as a combatant in this conflict. This conflict is taking a high civilian toll which is kinda the opposite ANY country on this planet would want.
You are free to insert the nationality of whoever in front of that civilian term you so wish, the entire point is, whichever side you want to pander to here, the government sanctioned force of that side you selected is doing a lot of things that is increasing the civilian population casualty rate of the opposite side you are selecting. However, anyway you want to slice it, any kind of war that is like that is one that is a non-productive war on any front to stop further conflict.
So whoever’s flag you want to be flying in this, both are just simply ensuring additional conflict at the cost of innocent lives. I know this might come as a surprise to you, but in some wars both sides in it can be utter shit.
While it’s true that Hamas was elected, half of the people living in Gaza aren’t old enough to vote and there hasn’t been an election since 2006.
And Israel has their own electric crisis, neither ruling body represents the nations.

The IDF has already killed many many times more civilians, using many more missiles over many weeks, than Hamas has in a single major attack.
Despite that, this the cartoon depicts 3 panels of 3 missiles each from Hamas compared 1 panel of 1 missile from the IDF.
Given that overwhelming and disproportionate response has been Israel’s policy for as long as I’ve been alive, it’s fair to say that this comic deliberately misrepresents reality.
