Android@lemmy.world•Why can't I find a browser.... That just acts like a browser???English
2·2 months agoI tried Waterfox a few months back and had loads of issues with it, it just didn’t seem ready. I must try it again. using Fennec at the minute.
On a separate note, does anyone know if there’s a reason that you can’t view pages preloaded when offline anymore?
I had damaged my SIM before going to the shop the other day, loaded up a website with a recipe and ingredients on the page before I left using home WiFi.
When I got to the store, I couldn’t view the page, it wanted to load again…

2·1 year agoNo, but if you have a link… 😉
I am pretty sure that such a service exists, but I can’t find it.
People paid cash, and it converted to crypto. Similar to paying USD/GBP or EUR on an online store e.g. Amazon UK/DE/COM etc.Ideally, like paying USD on Amazon UK so that I don’t get stung with Amazons exchange rate or eBay (or Paypals) etc.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is it possible (or difficult) to migrate an entire forum from vanilla to a lemmy instance?
1·1 year agoYes, it seems it does… and they look good. 🙂
Example here - https://piefed.social/topics
I got it from here - Scroll down to differences between Lemmy and PieFed.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How to combat Ticketmaster / Livenation?
1·1 year agoI have added an idea to the OP as I think (and hope) that might make some sort of difference.

Linux@lemmy.ml•NixOS, ProxMox, Debian or Ubuntu for Docker installation
1·1 year agoYep, that’s the plan. Still didn’t get around to it today. My “free” day and I’ve not sat down other than the few minutes earlier to write the OP and look at some of the replies l. Hopefully I’ll have a few hours to myself after dinner.

2·1 year agoThank you for a great, detailed answer. Proxmox it is so. I was going with NixOS and definitely going to try Podman as I’ve been reading all about that while downloading and copying the Isos. I will be dedicating an entire machine and if I don’t do it today, I fear it will be another year before I come back to it. 🥴 I’m going to start it now . Thanks again.

2·1 year agoI’ve just went to the betterstack podman page after the above post, and there’s a good video that covers what you asked, there.

Linux@lemmy.ml•NixOS, ProxMox, Debian or Ubuntu for Docker installation
5·1 year agoEnd goal is running docker with immich, navidrome, and something like jellyfin etc. Along with a few other things that I may add as I go along. Stability and low maintenance would probably suit me best

Leopards Ate My Face@lemmy.world•Zionist lobby comes for James O'Brien in surprise to no one but James O'BrienEnglish
20·1 year agoThey always deflect and cry anti-Semitism. I think that’s partially why the attempt at genocide has been allowed to go on for so brutally long. It’s like the boy who cried wolf. Most don’t even listen to them anymore. In fact, an anti-zionist group should be set up to double down on them for educational purposes so that they can see why it’s wrong, also to lobby against what they are calling for (in this case, somebody’s livelihood).
Who should be be replaced by, in their opinion?
I remember talking to two Japanese young lads about 20 years ago, and they thought the idea of toilet paper was disgusting. Smearing/smudging your own shit allover your inner ass cheeks.
That opened my eyes wide. I was a couple of years younger, but they spoke frankly and didn’t hide anything 😁

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are your guys setup for using lemmy on your pc and phone?
1·1 year agoUsing Raccoon for now after having a few issues with voyager. Liking it so far.

They were down for updates on Sunday night for about 15 - 30 minutes starting at 22:00.
Maybe something went wrong after that?
IIRC Feddit.uk had a few issues a few years ago with the owner of the domain name and costs I believe (but not sure), but I think that was all sorted.
