Your opinion is incorrect. There were two good reasons to believe this:

• His record: Donald spent part of his first term disentangling us from the forever wars, particularly in Syria and Afghanistan, where his admin negotiated our withdrawal.
• He literally said ‘No More Forever Wars’ during his campaign. Those exact words. Repeatedly.

Record corresponding to rhetoric is a very good reason to believe someone will adhere to what they say.

The title of the article is ‘Microsoft is disabling Office 2019 for Mac next month’, which makes it pretty clear that the editorializing of the title here on Lemmy was intended to be a bit dickish, at least to me.

If I am wrong, cool, but it’s not because I didn’t look at the article.

I read it as someone kinda being a dick, but it’s the Internet. Meaning isn’t always well-conveyed electronically. That’s why we have the sarcasm tag.

I’m not sure I’m cool with calling people ‘idiots’ in this scenario. We don’t blame the victims of con men when they’re stolen from, and this is the same thing, just on a bigger scale.

The only difference is in the packaging and presentation.

I remember the massive protests in Minneapolis, and the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, and how there was a ton of reporting of the bipartisan nature of the protests and the simple sabotage efforts that took place against ICE. (And, of course, the anger at the militarization of our cities against citizens.)

I wish I had the link, but I distinctly remember a young white guy talking about how he voted Republican but he couldn’t support Donald anymore when he’s watching grown, masked men chase down elementary school children and cuffing them.
