  • Speaking from a US cultural standpoint, most people don’t do this though. Because of this if someone asks “how are you doing?,” there is a script that runs in my brain that just translates it to mean “Hello.”

There’s nothing more soul crushing than showing emotional vulnerability and then promptly being told you’re a burden and have misinterpreted abstract social signals. Always better to just…not 🤷

  • If you don’t have the requisite cooking skills and knowledge then you really won’t be able determine when your LLM hallucinates bad instructions, which it absolutely will. This is true even without the involvement of an LLM because a lot of blog and recipe sites cut corners to make recipes look shorter and easier than they actually are and you need to know how to navigate that.

A great deal of cooking skills just comes in understanding your ingredients and how they chemically change as they cook. There is no substitute for knowledge and experience, especially when poor preparation can be damaging to your health in cases. Unfortunately, yes, “Git gud” is the answer because the LLM isn’t going to cook the food for you.

  • Just chiming in to say I’ve been having the same issue. Pages beyond the first (so maybe about 10 posts or so at a time) will not load and get stuck with a red “pages failed loading” error at the bottom of the screen in Jerboa. This behavior started over the weekend. All other navigation seems fine, I can go to a community and sort by any of filters but only the first page of posts will be visible. I’ve got about a half dozen different accounts on different instances and the issue only happens when logged into this instance at this time.

Edit: Unlike OP I never stopped having the issue. It’s still present post maintenance and upgrade.

  • The search in Jerboa is…limited. It searches on community name(not display name) and it will only show about a dozen of the largest communities as results and nothing more. You essentially need to already know what you’re looking for to find a great deal of value from it.

You really have to search for communities externally if you’re looking for something that isn’t a niche interest. There’s a small handful of directory sites that help with this, but I can’t for the life of me remember them at the moment if someone can help me out 😅

Edit: Mentaledge beat me too it. Lemmyverse.net is the largest of them.
