It did make me curious whether hot water heaters are really called geysers over there. I had to read further than I wanted to just figure out what needed repair.

Is her last name really Sink? If it is, is that why they placed her posture in front of one? Is that the joke? I’m very confused without any context.

The reverse can also happen.
It appears to already be happening again, early because of climate change.

From the article: “Star Trek was by that point one of the longest-lived and most prosperous subjects of slash fiction.” ;) I approve of this writer.

In Voyager, the situation is admittedly different, but they talk specifically about replicator credits. It could be that there’s a de facto currency depending on the environment one’s in. Alternatively, they could be common sayings that have outlived their literal meanings (becoming something akin to idioms) or, if you prefer some meta, they’re translations of what the characters actually say into the parlance a 20th-/21st-century audience is more comfortable with.

I felt like he never got enough screen time on Star Trek to develop much personality. Bester was by far my favorite role of his.

I was skeptical until I got to the part where you explained that Voyager is allied with the elves. Now it all makes sense!
Why are the fries soggy? Soggy fries make me sad.
Mine definitely understands; he just acts like he doesn’t.

Was Dodge going for a Klingon emblem there?
That’s a good point. I’ve never heard it specified (outside of art) how can killed Abel, but assuming they were farmers, it’s reasonable that it could have been with a rock: the only times I’ve consistently found decently-sized rocks was when I needed to dig a hole. Not when I wanted a rock, mind, but when I needed a hole.
Maybe it’s because of where I grew up, but I could usually find a serviceable stick more easily than a decent rock.
I will never understand the appeal of skate parks.
Well, see, there’s your problem <poke, poke>

I used to watch this after school at a friend’s house while I waited for my mom to finish work. They were hooked up to a strange satellite service that (he thought) was connected to some kind of national feed. The result was that all of the local/regional commercials were missing. So, we got the show and one or two commercials; the rest was just blank.
I’m impressed that they correctly estimated the amount of space they would need for all of those words. Negligible clumping of letters to cram in the last bit. Even for just a short phrase, I sometimes have to write backwards to ensure I don’t run out of room on the paper.
Militaries all over the world start feasibility studies on it about every five years. Strangely, as soon as they get to the human-trials stage, the report, without fail, abruptly terminates.
The title font baffles me. Is it supposed to futuristic? Could they not get the rights from the tv show? This one they’re using says more “goofy” than “science” or “adventure” to me.
