That’s fair, hard to read a Lemmy post with your phone balanced on your knob while guzzling a double fistful of pint ;)

Won’t someone please think of the metrics?!
With what? His knob? Pal’s just said they’ve got a pint in each hand!
Year of Linux wen? Now? Ples, B now?
what’s been built is a glorified homework cheater and an
betterunreliable search engine.
paper thin security advantages.
And loads of highly intrusive, unremovable, anti-user bullshit.
Fuuuuuuu…right in the feels…🥲
What’s your favourite dinosaur 🦕?
shudder fuck the pipes, won’t someone think of the poor plumbers that have to come deal with poopknife family homes?
Whack-a-mole sadly, but I will say that not every user on an instance you don’t want to interact with is necessarily going to be promoting content that you find objectionable.
It would take someone being willing to host something like that, and every other instance agreeing with the idea. It’s a nice idea, but I really don’t think that it’d happen, too many moving parts, too many people to convince, and honestly too much risk of ending up a hotbed of unsavoury content, CSAM etc.
shrugs I agree, just gotta wait and see how things pan out. Hope that America gets their shit together.
Look, it’s different if you tried to vote and weren’t able to. If you literally made no effort, then stfu. I should have been a bit more clear on that.
There’s a lot that needs to be done to make the American system better, electoral college, gerrymandering, blatant voter intimidation, better worker’s rights that include the right to have leave to vote.
Perfect! I’ll edit my post.
So the Tankie Triad is:
Edit:
The trouble is that, as far as I know, there’s currently no way as a user to block an entire instance. You can play whack-a-/C and block communities as you bump into them. The other option is to look for instances that have de-federated from these instances, and make a new account on one of those instances.
As @Samskara@sh.itjust.works pointed out, instance blocking is possible:
You can block instances in your settings. For your instance, that’s lemmy.ca/settings then selects blocks and add the instances you want to block
Are there other servers which amplify problematic content?
There’s a lot more than the 3 listed above, the ones I listed are militant in their belief that Russia and China are Marxist-Leninist utopias. There’s some communities and users across all the instances that are problematic. If you see something you don’t like, block the user or community.
Idk, I came here with no idea about the instance system, I joined one that was near the top of the list, realised it was entirely Tankies, and made an account on the instance this account is on. I think people are likely to have a similar experience.
Hear about Lemmy -> join one of the first instances they see -> realise how things actually work -> make an account on an instance that’s properly researched and more aligned with the person
Unfortunately, if they didn’t vote, they have no right to complain when shit blows up in their face. I don’t feel represented by basically any candidate in my home country, Canada, or where I live, the UK. I still participate and vote for the person closest to what I’d like to see. If you don’t participate, you don’t get to bitch.
It’s kinda nice, we’re big enough to have a fair amount of content, but small enough that it still kinda feels like a community.
I heard about it on Reddit, I have a pretty good diet, haven’t ever needed, or known anyone that needed, a poop knife
For real. Lots of symptoms of ADHD can be considered normal behaviour when they happen infrequently and alone. Pile em all together and you get the mess a lot of us are stuck in.
