The reason many of them (a charging brand like anker for example) do this is to get name recognition. If you see their name in 200 sponsors, and a year later you are looking for a charger, you see a familiar name in those 50 brands when you want to buy one, and subconsciously you trust it more than the brands you haven’t heard about.

I actually had a crypto miner virus that did this, and was the reason I started noticing it. It was one of those “wait until pc is idle for a long time then start” ones, but the cmd came on at pc startup.

1·1 year agoJust make sure that you keep up the good habits you had while on the medication. If you go back to your old habits the wright will come back. Glp1 blockers only work to force you into the good habits you need to keep when you go off it.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results is not the definition of insanity. It's the definition of practice.

I hate the wait when hanging watches too.

I do that because of the consistency difference between the huge pieces of crunchy onion and the smooth meat and mushy rice. If the onion is caramelised or cut to a mush, or onion powder I don’t mind it.

While I wouldn’t personally mind pride colors on crosswalks, having them be forced to answer “anything” is better than being allowed to ignore it.
Example:
"Painting them pride color will increase the cost of painting them, as it requires new tools and extra colors adding complexity to an otherwise quick paint job with tools used also on other similar road work .
While we agree in the spirit, the cost of doing this outweighs the increased visibility of a minority group, and will therefore not be considered further. "
Same. But I think their argument is that the investment is a net positive, but only if you actually get them to invest in your country and not the neighbours.
I can see why they would think that, but I agree with you that in reality it isn’t beneficial.
Id rather have internal companies invest in that hole in the market than reduce the taxes to have someone foreign invest in it, while moving a lot of that money out, leaving a tiny surplus. It would be better for that internal investment to leave a LARGE surplus, and have no money leave.
The argument that makes more sense I’ve seen in this line of thought is that it will stop NEW investment in your country by people on the outside. If someone is expanding and considering your country or another with less taxes, they will go there and not give your country the value growth of their business, leading to less taxes for you. The low tax is incentive to come invest.
So much this. We need to take back our time and cut down towards a 20 hour work week on average. 4 day work week is a START.
