  • Nah, the Climate Movement has laid out the idea and was making huge progress before Trump ILLEGALLY killed a fudge ton of JOBs to modernize our electrical infrastructure, suffocated science and most importantly, warped the free market, forcing coal power plants to stay open at the expense of cheaper, more robust renewables.

The ideas are still there. They just been politically kneecapped

  • Not saying this shouldn’t be reported and addressed, but the headline makes it sound like China’s electrical infrastructure is killing us all, when the situation is more like, China’s electrical infrastructure could be much better without much extra cost.

The CO2 equivalent the article is talking about is less than the CO2 of emitted by cars in California alone.

It is probably enabling renewable energy consumption all over the world too, so is probably making up for those emissions by reducing CO2 consumption elsewhere.

So the headline makes it sound like China is cooking the planet with this stuff, but that’s like calling out one person’s fart and screaming that it’s stinking up the shit factory.

We should try and do to SF6 what we did with CFCs. True, CFCs are still being released, but international regulations have been really effective in a massive reduction in general

  • I had a similar situation. Turned out to be a grounding issue.

Kept randomly losing the root m.2 drive and when I’d plug in monitor/keyboard I could type in the terminal, but most executables would not work.

Hard reboot and it’d be good for a few weeks or few months. Then it’d die again. Really annoying losing it because my calendar and email gui is on it.

Once I noticed a small static shock when I touched the case.

I taped a wire to the aluminum case and taped the other end to a grounded chassis of another computer and all was good since then

  • Wrong. Very wrong. These costs will be taken from the budgets of the individual organizations who are paying for maps

The majority of these agencies are already underfunded.

Schools for example will not receive funds to update their course materials. They will have to take that money from somewhere else in their budget.

The private corporations that make these course materials will be delighted at a new federal standard that schools are low-key forced to comply with or risk losing federal funding

You are right that the military budget will not feel the change
