Cool, thanks for the tips!
Good to know. Are there any other leaf characteristics to look for when identifying plants? I was just thinking of shape and color, but there must be a lot more.
This is very unscientific, but it reminds me of a young blueberry.
Did you create this yourself? Kudos, if so! If not, do you have a source? Either way, thank you for sharing. My plants are thanking you too ;)
I didn’t know that about rubber plants, thanks. Yes, I was thinking of the ficus benjamina, with smallish leaves and an arching/drooping habit.
If you have the space, a ficus is a pretty classic houseplant with different contours than the plants you have already.
lovely! There is a somewhat lonely orchid community at lemmy.ml (c/orchids). I don’t know how to link/crosspost, but if you do, they might appreciate this :)
Yes, you’re right, this gave me problems on mobile web even when I finally knew what the problem was.
So many ways to break things and so many thumbs to do it with ;)
Actually, yes, you have solved this, thank you! It was my language setting, and I had somehow selected everything EXCEPT English 😅. Houseplants must be mostly in English while the rest of Mander may be undetermined? Many thanks to you and @tauzero for looking into this :)
That’s a good thought. I went to check, and yes, same account and settings on mobile and web apps. I’ve read when this happens across instances, there are federation issues, but mander is local, and Houseplants is the only mander community with disappearing posts for me. Does this happen for anyone else locally? If not, maybe just another blip in the fediverse ¯_ (ツ) _/¯
Ah thank you for sharing! I may try, it’s a lovely plant.
That makes perfect sense since I think coffee is grown in the understory? How long has it taken to grow to its size? If it’s not too long, I give it a try!
Lovely, thank you for sharing! For some reason I can’t see any comments in jerboa atm, so please excuse if this has already been asked. What is the tall one on the left, and is it happy to stay away from the light? All office greens complain when they’re not plastered up against a window.
What do you enjoy/find beneficial about polars?
