While I share your sentiment completely, I have a bad feeling that this is the beginning of something bigger. AFAIK the Twitter purchase was Musk’s first venture into building an everything app, and he already owns x.com. I think this is one of the first steps.
Just because Musk thinks it’s a good idea doesn’t mean it will actually succeed. This will fail just like everything else he’s tried at twitter has failed. He’s delusional.
In conversation with Ron Baron a month later, Musk said he will execute the X product plan “with some improvements” which will make Twitter “the most valuable financial institution in the world.”[29]

I don’t think we should worry about an app we will never use. :)
