I dont know about that. There was a point a few weeks ago where I stopped linking images because Lemmy would try to cache them automatically, but those cache links never worked
lemmy in general? There’s some instances which enabled caching which caused problems with some image hosting services, but generally I’ve never noticed an issue hotlinking mastodon images.
