As some of you already have seen the lemm.ee admins have announced that the instance is shutting down at the end of the month.
The question for us is where should we migrate next.
Returning to !football@lemmy.world is always an option, alternatively we could move to either another established and stable lemmy instance or migrate to a piefed instance.
Piefed instances federate with lemmy instances as normal, and it allows for adding flairs to community posts and users, something not yet implemented on Lemmy. I haven’t tried Piefed myself yet so I would need to dig more into it if it is a popular option.
Ultimately the choice for our next destination is up to you guys!
I really like Beehaw, it’s a very valuable instance that a has a unique place on Lemmy. That being said, do you think that being defederated from LW and SJW could impact the activity of the community?
The one we’re currently in isn’t that active in the first place, and Lemm.ee federated with almost everyone.
