I am on felony probation in Virginia and I just started seeing a new psychiatrist via telehealth. She is prescribing me mental health medications, including Vyvanse and Klonopin. I know both are controlled substances. Will I be okay taking these while on probation, and what exactly should I do? It really has me worried since I know my next drug screen will test dirty for amphetamines (from the Vyvanse) and benzodiazepines (from the Klonopin).Any advice would really help ease my mind.

i guess i’m really just wondering if legally i’m ok and they can’t like violate me and throw me in jail?

Thanks.

As long as it’s a legal prescription, they shouldn’t be able to violate you. One of my roommates was on parole taking Ritalin and his parole officer just wanted a letter from his doctor or something like that.

It’s a lot of paperwork to throw someone on probation/parole in jail, so as long as you keep them informed, you should be good.

good to hear. yea i’m keeping all my prescription paperwork from my pharmacy and i’m getting ready in a day or two to send my probation officer pictures of it all and information on what everything is and explain my dr has changed some of my meds and that two are controlled and will be showing up on my next drug screen.

i just know how much in reality that they really do not care as far as putting u in jail and stuff and to them it does not matter like i know how easy they can fuck your life up without even blinking twice over it. but thanks
