I think I remember a strange cross over episode where one of the Pythons was being chased by a blancmange, which I thought was for sure a reference to their weird capture orb from the Prisoner–hell given how Python was always raiding BBC supplies, it might have been the exact same orb.
But I probably would have found it otherwise; it’s not commonly referenced, but when it is, it’s like, “holy shit, what is this about? this is definitely something specific.” I’m guessing the Council of Ricks took some inspiration.
Yes, I think there was a TV Tropes page about that phenomenon I think called something like “Seinfeld isn´t funny.” Could also have been called, “Tolkien was a total hack.”
