That scene from House where Cuddy follows House’s hunch and gives the paralyzed guy the cortisol shot healing him and allowing him to walk again kills me
I thinknits good to once in a while have a cry to get out shit
Probably ejects cortisol…Soo powerful.
Also that scene in Majoras’s Mask where you heal Pamela’s gibdo father and she runs to embrace her daddy and she cries something like “Father/Papa 😭” in such a grief stricken singsong childish way. I just cant
Have a real soft spot for healing and restoration, it seems, from finding what was lost and thought intractable to at least somewhat restoring and getting it back somehow
The Rupert episode/end scene playing “Its So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” on Family Guy was very sweet and nicely done, not used to feeling things from Family Guy besides laughing and derision but it was touching in its own way
That episode of Scrubs where Dr. Cox thinks he’s going to a kid’s birthday party but realizes it’s actually his best friend’s funeral 😭😭😭
How did that mixup happen?
He’d been in denial the whole episode and hallucinating said best friend trying to hold him together. It’s a reveal for him and the viewer at the same time.
I think we all accepted that Cox was blitzed out of his mind for lacking sleeping for so long.
5h+ and not one mention of Futurama…
There’s at least 2 that I can name off the top of my head and there’s probably 2-3 more.
Seymour waiting for Fry.
Fry talking to mum, as a reward after the defeat of brains.
Just listing them brings up that hard to swallow feeling/emotion.The one that gets me is when he’s standing in the grave and realises he’s misjudged his brother.
Yup, that’s another one
Do you mean “Mom” as in the evil “Mom” of the robot grease company
Nope, his own mum in her dream, not the evil Mom.
Edit… That one hits harder for me than Seymour, for reasons…Ah now i see her :(

His dad kinda resembles a brunette Zap
The scene from Bluey, in “The Sign” when they decide to stay.
Bluey has brought me neat tears many many times, even when I’ve seen it before and know what is going to happen.
Bingo’s dream sequence is a very close second. That show is so freaking good
Great choice.
I mean, it sounds sad but I cry in Infinity War when Thor talks to Rocket about his past “what more could I lose?”. The ending of Infinity War makes me cry too, I don’t know why.
The scene in the house in Wandavision gets me
The final act of Rogue One, gets me.
The “death” speech in LOTR: Return of the King.
I dislike Cloud Atlas as a whole but the story “Letters to Sixsmith” is so beautiful it makes me cry as well.
“My Lunch” in the Scrubs TV show will always get me.
The “Up” opening is a freaking killer … it’s like tailored to destroy you.
Actually, the “Bing Bong” scene in Inside Out gets me.
Not reliably but after suffering through depression for a while and then watching the end of “Thunderbolts” where they grab him got me so bad I cried uncontrollably in the theatre.
The end of Dead Poets.
No spoilers. Robin’s casting is outstanding for that role/scene.
The beginning of Up.
Oh lots honestly. And some hit much harder after I became father. These reliably bring the tears when I allow myself to be emotionally invested in the movie.
- Opening scene of Up.
- The scene where we finally see the unsanitized, ugly trauma of The Miracle in Encanto.
- Anna’s solo “Next Right Thing” song in Frozen II.
- A few scenes in Godzilla: Minus One.
- The scene where Hawkeye gets the soul stone in Avengers Endgame.
- The messages from home scene and reunion scene in Interstellar.
There’s an amazing Pathfinder (ttrpg similar to D&D) podcast called “Find the Path” that has a Patreon exclusive show called “Tyrant’s Grasp” that is shockingly emotional and I have to be careful where/when I listen because I have been emotionally ruined by it several times. Their other shows are wonderful too, but that one is powerfully emotional.
Whg do you think its so particularly powerful for you, does it hit close to home somehow?
The podcast? It’s a combination of factors. They are very authentic people and excellent role players, and they’re playing a highly emotional, professionally written adventure. The narrator (game master in the terms of the game) is extremely attentive to details and pacing. They play strictly by the rules and are playing a difficult game, so sometimes heros fall and don’t get back up.
These factors compound because the story itself is masterful. Powerful and grim, but also hopeful.
Massive spoilers below the tag.

Tyrants Grasp was written as a survival horror story in what is normally a high fantasy world. The story begins as characters were attending a festival, then suddenly wake up in the land of the dead. They find out there’s been a sort clerical error- something strange occurred and they’re still partly alive. They are allowed to return to the land of the living. When they do they find their town ruined by a powerful weapon of some kind, and their townsfolk adrift as shades. They have to confront these shades and help them accept their death and move on. Including one character’s young daughter who thinks she’s playing at the school with her friends, a scene that caught me while I was in the gym before I knew better and I basically had to quit my workout and cry through to process.
After helping the shades move on, they embark on a quest of revenge, trying to stop similar tragedies. Long story short- they fail often, but they persist and find the best parts of humanity hiding in the darkest places along their journey.
It’s a bleak story filled with tragedy, despair, trauma, and failure. But also beautiful with hope, perseverance, and self sacrifice. The heros don’t always win, they’re often broken, but they do find a way to fight back against the darkness and evil of their situation and that is sometimes all anyone can do.
The Green Mile. Pick a scene…

The scene in Coco where she remembers.
The start of Up, and in the end when he realises… Fuck! Just typing this is making me go…
Should I watch Up
Really sweet movie.

Thats so poignant, that they took the “o” out so its Dug, like Dig Dug. Does he like to dig?
Jurassic Bark
The episode of SG-1 where Daniel is dying and O’Neill has to get everyone to stop trying to save him.
PS I Love You, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
The Good Place got me several times. Chidi and Eleanor have plenty of obvious moments but the one that was most unexpected was Jason talking about the air in his lungs feeling the same as the air outside his body. That made me feel unexpected things.
The entirety of “My Neighbor Totoro”
For me, it’s usually scenes dealing with loss or grief. Something like the episode The Body from Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an emotional wallop I have to mentally prepare for. I think grief is the feeling I’m most connected to, and anytime someone loses a loved one it hurts, deep.
I haven’t watched the finale since it aired, but there’s one scene in the last episode of Lost that makes me teary just thinking about it.
I don’t remember all the details, but Jack is talking to his father at some kind of wake or memorial and he asks him what is going on. Jack’s father tells him that he already knows what is going on and Jack tearfully admits that he is dead. Something about facing your mortality like that, with your father watching, just got me.
That coupled with the scene of Jack bleeding out with the dog next to him made me ugly cry for the first time in years when I first watched it.
The Constant. Lost
Maybe one of the best episodes of the whole show.
Definitely my favorite!
