I’m not going on Reddit and I like a little light fluff in my feed, Lemmy’s low user count makes it hard for this to happen organically. All the people that complain can easily block you or could choose/make/contribute to communities that prohibit reposting.
They do a shit job picking what to repost. A lot of it is bigoted as hell and their “news” bots (they have a dozen accounts) post almost exclusively tabloids.
I think it’s wild that anyone would want OC copied here when it’s presented in first person, though. No interaction with the person posting it just makes it content slop
Fair points. I’d advocate for some labelling to indicate that it’s a repost and not true OC. I didn’t do a broader search into the user’s behaviour but looked at the community quickly and they’ve been the only one posting content here for a month.
I haven’t read them yet but it looks like there’s more comments on this post now. I think interaction within this community, even without the reddit OOP, provides the value for me to differentiate it from slop i.e. pull it out of reddit and (presumably) real people are discussing it.

Maybe stop posting content that you claim is yours, until after you fix your shit and it stops doing that. All you’re doing is driving traffic to reddit so people can talk to the real op and not a bot like you.

“So you get a clean floor”…? Is the idea that the vacuum lights reveal dirt in the darkness better due to contrast? Because obviously less light is normally not good for aiding with cleaning.
