Meanwhile Roblox has their own faux stock market with no age requirement, complete with price charts on site, where players can invest in items and probably lose their money either on a bad bet, or from Roblox taking a cut off everything.

My 11 year old brother learned what rule34 was from Roblox staff because he tried to upload a model for a game he was making, and they denied it and said it was “rule34” when he asked why. The model was literally a cat

It’s not just Roblox allowing casino sites and running unregulated markets. They allow for porn on their platform and also allowing child predators and child exploitation on their platforms. I’m not sure why parents even allow their kids to go on the platform since Roblox doesn’t care about it.

People Makes Games did 2 videos a year ago digging deeper into it.

    1. Predatory Actions
    2. Exploitation

I remember the Minecraft casino. While I never spent any money, it taught me that I should never gamble. For a few years after that the Minecraft exp collection sound would trigger a dopamine rush. Is the main reason I stopped playing MC too.

(They gave “play” money to use on top of letting users also use real BTC.)

Yeah, I wouldn’t say Roblox is inherently evil- the majority of the games on there are perfectly kid friendly.

Very true. I’ve played with her a bit on there and there’s a few game even I enjoyed. Pet simulator XL, the noob war game thing, and SCP 3008. All really just dumb fun.

I’m just happy she seems to be enjoying Garry’s Mod more now.
