Democratic lawmakers and activists are pushing back against Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown, accusing the president of a lack of empathy. But there’s nothing compassionate about the policies of his predecessors, who not only lost track of tens of thousands of migrant children, but eased the work of criminals engaged in their systematic abuse.
Independent investigators, whistleblowers and a handful of MAGA lawmakers have spent years detailing the horrific risks underage illegal immigrants face when they come to the US, from forced labor and sexual exploitation to ‘recycling’ by traffickers who match them with strangers to ease adults’ entry into the US.
Documented abuse has been rampant, and includes:
-
The drugging of toddlers in transit to the border to prevent them from confirming whether the adults accompanying them are relatives.
-
Infants as young as two being left alone at the border with pieces of paper with contact information about guardians supposedly already in the US.
-
Testimony from HHS and CBP whistleblowers in a bombshell viral documentary by independent journalist Ryan Matta about what effectively amounted to a “public-private partnership” between - Biden officials and criminal cartels facilitating the trafficking of children, including for sexual purposes.
-
Allegations by Matta and others accusing USAID and NGOs of orchestrating a $797M campaign in Guatemala to turn the country into the “Child Kidnapping Capital of the World”.
-
Allegations in a 2024 report by the DHS’s internal watchdog over responsible agencies’ abject failure to keep track of unaccompanied minors released from government custody who fail to appear for their immigration court hearings (32,000+ such cases reported over a five year period up to mid-2024).
-
Charges by Congressional Republicans briefed on DHS and HHS policy revealing severe shortcomings in agencies’ vetting of sponsors, the loss of contact with over 85,000 unaccompanied children between 2021-2023, plus the HHS’s release of 290,000 minors without orders to appear in court.
-
Evidence that the Office of Refugee Resettlement’s budgeting of some $6.9 bln per year to care for children went to private companies whose employees engaged in the systematic sexual abuse and harassment of children in shelters (including Southwest Key Programs, which got $2.5 bln+ in FY2023).
-
Investigations even by mainstream outlets like the New York Times on how sponsored children have been forced to work dangerous jobs to pay off debts to abusive sponsors and try to send money home.
-
Damning Congressional testimony last November by an HHS whistleblower, a retired CBP agent and trafficking expert on the administration’s looking the other way as children have been exploited by gangs, with some falling victim to sex trafficking, forced labor or worse.
“Organ harvesting is real,” retired patrol agent J.J. Carrell told a shocked panel at the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement.
“This federal government’s bringing children over that are being lost, sexually mutilated, raped, murdered, and then we’re shocked or appalled that there could be organ harvesting. The people I’ve interviewed, multiple people – and I asked them, is this an anomaly, a one-off? No. This is pervasive and is growing daily,” Carrell said.
The Biden administration has not even tried to disguise the dark direction of some of its immigration-related directives as they applied to children, with its DoJ moving in May 2024 to partially terminate the Flores Agreement – which provided limited court supervision for unaccompanied children in HHS custody.
The agreement was settled in 1997 after hard-fought legal battles with the explicit purpose of tackling allegations of the widespread mistreatment of migrant children entering the US going back to the 1980s.
Amid damning revelations and scandals surrounding elite pedophilia, child prostitution and trafficking rings, run by odious figures such as Jeffrey Epstein while authorities spent years looking the other way, is conspiratorial to ask why the US government facilitated policies seemingly deliberately designed to result in so many ‘lost’ migrant children?
I’m skeptical of alot of Matta’s claims, given that he seems to be more of a reich-wing interloper than an actual independent journalist. He seems like a Pizzagate nutjob fascist kind of guy, from what I’ve read.
But at the same time, I’m slightly surprised that some of his claims are independently corroborated.
Not that I like Biden or democrats, or that the democrats aren’t equally as corrupt as rethuglicans. Of course they are.
I’m also not surprised that the U.S. is interfering in Guatemala.
Guys, can we make sure to properly vet our sources before posting them? Is this guy nuttier than a PB&J sandwich the only one talking about these abuses?
Not only is this article unshareable, reading praises of republicans on their immigration policy is just cringy, especially as a non-white.
I have seen these type of concerns like yours pop in a variety of topics discussed in this platform. However, this answer from another comrade is a good reminder about being critical of information and not falling into “Lib Purity”:
I understand, as a non-white person from Mexico, that certain reporters may be deplorable. However, what this person has shared around this topic goes in line with some Mexican sources around migrants crossing Mexico.
As for sharing this source, I haven’t found someone (from an ML or leftist) that links the US govt with this issue, but if you do, please share it.
I’m not being a purist. I don’t mind when when reactionary sources (like John Mearshimer or western media outlets for example) are linked, because they can have useful information or analysis. But some sources are so reactionary that the toxic association becomes a liability.
As for sharing this source, I haven’t found someone (from an ML or leftist) that links the US govt with this issue, but if you do, please share it.
Unfortunately, I keep only finding highly reactionary sources for these claims. I’ll have to look some other time
But some sources are so reactionary that the toxic association becomes a liability.
Fair point.
Unfortunately, I keep only finding highly reactionary sources for these claims. I’ll have to look some other time
Sadly, lots of reporters shy away from this topic. However, you can probably find sources from reputable reporters if you look for topics separately:
-
The US foreign policy caused immigration from the global south through sanctions and terror.
-
There is rampant child abuse done to migrants’ children while crossing through Mexico.
-
There is systematic abuse through forced labor and other vile things in the USA.
As for a source that connects the dots, this will be the first one I come across. Once again, if you put the effort and find a better source, I urge to share it.

i wish that democrats were aware that thier leaders are just as abhorrent as republicans when it comes to immigration; but i suppose that would force them to admit that they’re wrong and liberals REALLY don’t like that.
I’m skeptical of some of these allegations, but I don’t doubt that alot of them have truth in them.
Ryan Matta is an alt-reich Trump bootlicking nutjob who unironically believes that the globalists are turning everyone LGBT and that the Democrats stole the 2020 election.
Now, just because someone is a nutjob, a tool, or a psychopath, doesn’t mean they can never ever be telling the truth, and I’m surprised that some of Matta’s allegations seem to be corroborated by other sources.
It’s cliche but true: even broken clocks are right twice a day
They agree with the cruelty and racism, but won’t admit it out loud. Trump REALLY triggers them by not bothering with the enchanted mirror of niceties.
Excluding the first 4 “formerly twitter” sources, I believe that the rest of article is fine, in so far as it does lib or respectful sources (you’ll need to deal with NY Crimes, CNN, and homeland.gov sites, which kinda seem con-leaning but less batshit)
Nothing about the cruelty of Biden’s immigration policies is news to anyone on this website. Biden will never be president again. The Republican Party currently holds power in every branch of the imperial government. The current administration openly promises to conduct an ethnic cleansing campaign that would traffic hundreds of times more people than the Indian Removal Act.
“Democrats are also bad!” is a point worth analyzing seriously when they have any degree of institutional power, or to an audience that sincerely believes in the Democratic Party as a vehicle for structural reform. Neither of those things are the case in 2025 on an explicitly Marxist-Leninist website.
The idea that “a handful of MAGA lawmakers”, who are all open white nationalists, opposed the Biden administrations immigration policies out of concern for the well being of immigrant children is absurd on its face. The idea that we should entertain evidence-free Pizzagate and QAnon style stories about Democrat cabals engaging in secret child organ harvesting conspiracies based on testimony from a random ex-CBP agent is nonsense. This is akin to people who would insist that Alex Jones has valid and important points that we should all take seriously as communists because he says “both parties are bad” and “the government is lying to you” in between paragraphs about how “Sandy Hook didn’t happen” and “the Judeo-Bolshevik reptilians are putting 5g nanobots in the drinking water to feminize your kids in a plot to wipe out the white race”.
