This is dumb as shit. 65% of Republicans still blame it on Biden, probably because they can’t or won’t fuckin’ read and to quote the meme, would be real mad if they could.
Only 21% of Republicans blame Trump. They will go to their deathbeds before they turn on their God, just like they did during COVID while dying of COVID, screaming that it was something else out of their quickly melting lungs.
I hate these kind of articles. Until there is a significant change in Republican attitudes, this changes nothing. They’ll happily live in a fantasy world that supports how they feel like they’ve done their whole worthless pigheaded fucking lives.
While it would be nice if a significant portion of Republicans could open their fucking eyes and acquaint themselves with reality, the article is focusing on the independents who are far more likely to switch sides. One of the key factors in the last election was the large number of low information voters who voted for Trump because they wanted a change, driven almost entirely by being upset about the economy and inflation. Their economic illiteracy and confident ignorance was and is infuriating, but that feelings and vibes approach to voting is also a double edged sword. The more harm Trump inflicts on people through his idiotic trade wars and cuts to programs people need, the more they will blame him. That they will be right to blame him is just a happy coincidence.
Also, we are just two months in. We still have a long road ahead of us, and things are almost certainly going to get a lot worse.
As long as fewer and fewer are willing to admit to being Republican they can keep their 65% of dubasses don’t know they’re dumbasses poll.

Tarrifs are a type of tax. People are just idiots. They probably realized they could dupe people into accepting a tax increase by just calling it by a different name.

I’m not entirely sure that Biden-or-Trump inflation question shows what they think it shows.
I do blame Biden quite a bit for inflation.
Stimulus was the right move during Covid. But it was inevitably going to result in inflation if the added money wasn’t cleaned up via taxes.
Trump could’ve started the ball rolling on a tax plan before exiting. But even if he was the kind of guy who would commit political suicide during an election year for the good of the country, time was pretty tight and there were legitimately bigger fish to fry.
So it fell on Biden. Biden had four years to do it. He didn’t. The money accumulated in the hands of the ultra-wealthy.
I get that it was an unfavorable legislative environment, but you gotta make it obvious to the voters that you see the problem and are trying to fix it. Instead, we got interest rate voodoo and several months of gaslighting that the economy has never been better.
