Yeah - it looks like they want to keep things fairly minimal…nothing too heavy about the whole thing. Personally, I didn’t really interact in the community under the original site. I was there mostly, for posting the word count which my friends could see – and they were all people I knew IRL so we didn’t need the forum.
So, yeah, no AI, no extra technology or anything. I was just looking at TrackBear (https://trackbear.app/) to see if I want to use it. Looks like it might be nice.
There was towards the end, I’m not sure who still has one running. I participated (just the tracker) from 2007 until 2020 or so, then I switched off to writingmonth.org once that gained some traction last year.
So glad that the new site/group explicitly says no AI.

There were so many things wrong with the NanoWrimo team.
Is there a story/list anywhere? We would like to read up on what they did.
There is a detailed timeline of the scandals on the NaNoWriMo2 website.

Yikes!!!
Yeah, right? It was a total fireball at the end. I quit in 2020 when they were just getting uncomfortably grifty but it got so… much… worse.
