They sound incredible and so relaxing/soundbathy when the harsher mid-upper ranges are equalized out
Not sure if all GB© games use the exact same sound engine/output or if there are idiosyncrasies to specific games and franchises
Going for warm

Old video game consoles had dedicated sound chips with a range of tones, sounds, and total notes they could play. They simply didn’t have the memory to store music on the cartridge so they would store instructions for the sound chip instead which took far less space. As a result you can learn to recognize the sounds of various machines. From my brief search it appears GB and GBC used functionally the same chip
What games did you find to have very ambient/euphonic sound to them in particular if you have anything in particular you had to mention?
Oh, you asked for what games, not why. Oops
I think Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country, and the SNES Final Fantasies. Specially 6 would fit the bill
No i appreciate the explanation and the reccs, both are valuable a d i definitely tee’d it up that way :)
