  • People still have to survive. We still have to shop. Sorry I can’t grow a food forest in my 800 sq. Ft. Apartment and live off composting my own shit to grow heirloom tomatos.

You got somewhere I can find food for cheap that at least gives the thinnest veneer of not trying to be as awful as possible? Do you? No, you’re a shitstain hatemongrel who offers nothing but kicking people who don’t have the priveledge of options in a capitalist hellscape.

Assuming you aren’t one of those hate bots mentioned in a previous post then please quickly and permanently go fuck yourself.

You know I want to say I earnestly want to give them the benefit of a doubt and that they need it pointed out that they’re just saying shit and not even realizing what they’re signing up for.

But also, like, I see a target I shoot at it. Maybe I’m not much better.

You know that openly saying you want to be on a misandry list is a bad thing, right?

Even if you are trying to make an overly moralizing statement about overcorrection and overreaction, you’re still a giant asshole, you know that, right?

Edit just to make sure I cover the bases but what I’m trying to say is you would be way more well off not commenting, I just need you to know that was always an option.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say there’s some weird projection happening here because there is no way whatsoever that has anything to do with unattractive entitled people. Words mean things, and you need to review what it is you’re trying to cpmmunicate here.

I have a base, flat amount of respect for anyone who is willing to speak out and call nazis nazis. Right now there’s a literal dark money fountain available to people who want to defend Israel, for instance, and anyone who isn’t taking that and still willing to ragebait probably isn’t 100% terrible. And real talk hatesubs are not real. That’s some wild conspiracy stuff. If they are, then fuck it, get that bag. Flat respect who can get people to pay to say how much they hate your titties on a platform where you’ll be instantly squuelched and still take your money.

I’m just here promoting real, sane, criticism.

I mean I’m not disagreeing. If anything I hate Reddit more for being a crushing echo chamber that takes people who might have a good thing going and turning them into steralized, nonfunctional content monsters.

I do think it’s a time will tell kind of thing. Even SrGrapho just sort of fell into a hole where he was doing OC nudes and has yet to make a decent meme format in a decade.

Pizzacake could be better but I don’t mind that she’s taking on nazi’s and right wing weirdos who can’t help but lose their shit over titties and even the gentlest of criticisms. And refer to the first paragraph but there isn’t a single reddit community I would take the word of at face value.

Personally I think at the beginning thely were cute, funny, and at bare minimum I give bonus points to anyone starting out trying to do something rather than listen to di guses who think that there’s a hard baseline for content.

But I do think she became some sort of Reddit beast that got stuck in a flattery eddie off to the side of the R/ALL tributary and stopped getting meaningful criticism and it hurt a lot of her output and growth.

And yet she still has more talent and entertainment value then a bunch of slackjawed comment troglydites with the most incredibly iroic sense of mediocre.

  • That doesn’t change the fact that artists and creatives have no other outlet than to be beholden by their platform. Unless you’re going and buying hatsune miku fanart prints at your farmers market, unethucal consumption under captitalism also means trying to find out how to provide for the staff who still contribute to meaningful art, even if that is the set designer for an Avengers slop movie.

  • I had this sort of sympathy until I saw how openly hostile people were in their open jealousy over talented people. I kept running into these people for years who were just so angry at the fact that they had to pay someone for their time and talent.

This gets to be a little offshooty for other things I tend to have less popular opinions on, but it’s the same people who feel that piracy should be the norm. No art, performance, or entertainment should be allowed to compel payment and it should all be free. This includes people who absolutely froth about advertisments on their Youtube videos. Granted 5 ads in a row is ridiculous but peraonally I want my artists and performers to be paid egregiously and I will suffer some small inconveniences to make sure they ateast get something from me.

But I think the venn diagram of people who are obsessed with AI and the people who just take offense to having to spend money on anything is a pretty tight one.

  • I mean I’m not an expert but financial regulation and a functioning FTC. Being completely real I only have keywords here and no working knowledge of the links but Mamdani is already Taxing second homes that are being unused and kept as financial assets in NY which is something I feel should be modeled elsewhere. The faircloth amendment should be repealed and public housing destigmafied. And air BnB and interstate rental firms (or just any blanket asset management firms like Blackrock while we’re at it)should be abolished. Those are my big general takeaways.

My basic understanding is the reason we have housing as a speculative asset is the same as everything else that’s been getting exponentially shitty over the past 20 years, “if it exists and isn’t generating money then what’s the point of it”. Housing especially was always seen as an appreciative asset, but maybe if barely supposed to match inflation rates, so you could say any money you put into equity would always carry value into present day, but some people took that to mean"I should be able to die and be buried in a gold coffin because something about compound interest" and there were a lot of financiers who took advantage to this leadded gasoline fueled delusion.

    Anyway that’s my two cents.

  • I think the most upsetting part of AI is discovering how many people were so ready for it, like they were just waiting for something to show up that they could offload their lack of creativity or responsibility onto.

I instantly lost friends because the first thing out of their mouth was ‘thank God I never have to pay anyone to commission art ever again and the little guy has access to good OC art.’

These people were not functioning before AI.
