Mastodon is a viable option, but then again, this app does some basic automatic account creation from existing FB data and follow people from it. This alone will impress some non-tech journalist and praise it. We have become too lazy to get out of the burning house and save our life.
I wonder if any of that break some GPDR or California Data laws.
Sharing is caring for us sailors.
The database if still out there, go get it. Put it in our preferred torrent client and keep it. magnet:?xt=urn:btih:ulfihylx35oldftn7qosmk6hkhsjq5af
I’m already seeing the duplicate community issue. I am a weekly reader of One Piece and currently, there are 4 communities for it on Lemmy alone. Its not helping the community come together.
This would be excellent if done right. What I am curious about is, where this will be implemented? On the protocol level in activity pub or with each GUI (mastodon, pixelfed, lemmy, kbin etc) need to individually implemented it?
Well, the people have spoken 😂
I had a good hearty laugh thanks to your comment.
You guys outlined good enough reasons for your decision. I hope this will make things easier to work with.
From what I understand, yes that’s part of it. Admins can initiate this process too, but idk how they do it. Good on your taking the initative.
Finally a protest with no end in sight. I hope more subreddits join for this to have an impact.
Reddit black out needs to keep going. Reddit communities should move to Lemmy or kbin. All reddit communities are self moderated by the people who love their selective communities.
There is no need to scum to a company that cares more about making a buck than to the people that make reddit, reddit.
Lemmy is the new reddit.
Saving this for when I need to explain to people the differences.
Thanks to this list, I saved a minute.
You guys are still using the same email?
