Check out Pixelfed for an Instagram replacement. Seems to fill the same sort of use case

As an admin of a small kbin instance, I’ll be keeping an eye on updates from you as this will be very handy!
The great thing is that it doesn’t matter which platform “wins” or not. They work together fine so you just use the one you prefer.

Or even just Linux Mint (non-debian edition). I’ve moved to that as it’s a familiar Ubuntu base but without snaps.
