Buddy, I’m not American either.
Difference is I don’t try and insult people for living under the thumb of capitalism. We’re all struggling right now, and with the way the world is going, it only takes one bad leader for your country to end up in a shambles. When it’s your home and family on the line, I’ll happily eat my hat when you go Rambo.

If they leave: “Quitters! Now Trump will place his own stooges in the position! What a terrible move! They should have stayed and just done a bad job!”
If they stay: “I can’t believe these people can work for that regime! Where are their morals? If you take a pay check from a nazi, you are a nazi! Wait til we have our Nuremberg! Who’s just following orders then?”
There is no good answer here. I think it is scary that the position will be filled by worse people, but I also understand that when the shit hits the fan, I would prefer to be distanced from that regime. These people are individuals with families and lives we don’t understand. How long have they been pushing back against this shit? And how much is enough for an individual to endure?
I work a low-stakes job that belittles me and ignores my opinions. I could not imagine that my mental health would be better if I was also working for nazis, and the people I wanted to help saw me as a nazi too. I hope they stay safe.
