yeah, if you hear the bullet it wasn’t aimed at you.
I’m Sol.Orion on SJW, but I’ll likely not use that account anymore.

No clue. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was technically outside of hearing safe, but it’s not actively uncomfortable to shoot. It’s a single shot bolt action so I’m not gonna do long term hearing damage fast lol.

Ehhh, you probably could if you weren’t extremely close and it was the right firearm.
There’s a lot of variation between different guns when it comes to volume- even the same caliber can be dramatically quieter out of a long barrel. I own a .22lr rifle that’s entirely fine to shoot without ear protection, and a .22lr revolver that’s definitely not fine to shoot without ear protection.
What I’m getting at is 12ga is fucking loud, even by gun standards. In an enclosed space? I bet you had tinnitus for awhile.
Ah, got cease and desisted. I see. I still think Stoat is a weird choice, but fair enough.
Stoat.
That’s, uh… that’s a decision.

Proton is just a compatibility layer to make Linux run Windows games.
Normally if you install a game via Steam Proton just kind of works.
https://github.com/Open-Wine-Components/umu-launcher should let you use Proton without using Steam.
And yeah, you want the entire folder titled ‘Dispatch.’
Linux won’t really recognize .exes. Those are a Windows thing, so you have to run them via some sort of compatibility software like Proton or WINE.

Get the files transferred from what? Your Win11 laptop? Because it’s reasonably likely that the files won’t work properly if transferred- Windows executables don’t just work on Linux.
Also what games specifically are you trying to play? For BG3 you’ll probably need to find the Linux version or get Proton set up. For TotK you can probably use most of the same files, but you’ll need a new emulator install. There’s roughly a thousand Switch emulators so pick your poison and following the install instructions.

Weeks? Fucking how? I work at a post office and today our OIC was running around with her hair on fire because the mail was three days late on one route.

They don’t even need to understaff them, that shit is all automated these days. Just manufacture a breakdown and voila.

Some very interesting roguelikes in this, thanks for bringing them to my attention!
I’ll leave the keys to others, though. Merry Christmas!

“I don’t believe in germ theory,” she said, “I don’t believe in contagion,”
Ah, yes, I agree. It’s definitely the four humors that actually cause disease. “Covid-19” is just caused by a build up of phlegm. I just haven’t figured out why the build up of phlegm spreads from person to person… hmmm.
And then kept using it for an extremely long time until basically forced to stop lol.
There’s a BobbyBroccoli video on the topic, and it’s pretty interesting.

Coyotes. Dramatically more annoying little nerds.

Where the hell do you live that dogs are getting killed by predators instantly? Do you mean like small dogs? I could see that.

Because the consequences were instant for the guy feeding cats to coyotes, and saying so in front of his daughter wasn’t really necessary?

I wasn’t trying to suggest that it would be impossible- it’s obviously not. Just that it would be a difficult adjustment.

Yeah, Japanese is written right to left, top to bottom. Traditionally, at least.

Afaik it’s no longer fissioning, and it hasn’t been for awhile. So it’s not actually molten, and not particularly hot at all.
It’s just a joke/saying. Not meant to be taken literally.
