I think once I accidentally made a microblog when I meant to start a thread in a magazine? It felt super vague and I basically haven’t bothered making too-level posts since. I just lurk and post snark.

Can’t wait for myself to buy this in a new package with other half-assed Mario ports for $60.
I have no self-control. 😥
Shocked, but thrilled. But also VERY shocked. But in a good way.
I’m considering an Asus ROG Ally. Already have a Steam Deck, but using my GoG library and EGS freebies is awkward, and Xbox GamePass as well. The Ally seems like a good way to get all that natively via Windows, plus a better looking screen than the Deck…
Especially if you can afford GamePass, it’s never been a better time!
I built one of these a couple weekends back and have been blissfully extracting ROMs from my cartridge collection since then. I love it so much, and it’s a really solid design!
I miss Google Wave. It was my preferred way to collaborate with friends for a long time.
Agreed. I never should’ve done that.
I hate that feeling of knowing I need to do something and wanting to start, but actually doing it is like my body and mind are weighed down by concrete.
If not experiencing those things would dramatically make your life better, might go see a psychiatrist about evaluation?
Gotta use the hammer on them lil guys. They hurts the feets if you jomp
I haven’t yet, but eventually I plan to host my own and just sub to other instances from there, specifically because I trust myself more than other mods. And I think that’s a big goal of federation—if you want, you can just* run your own instance and you shouldn’t miss out on anything because of it.
*It can still be quite difficult to set up instances, depending on what software you want to use. I hope this will improve dramatically over the next year or two, so non-IT-professionals can participate in the network.
I keep hoping to see a small group of Rust devs fork Lenny and just take it over and make it non-tankie, and then hosts can switch over to that codebase and the original devs can fade into obscurity.
Why did Beehaw defederate it? I’m out of the loop…
To clarify, running Plex is easy; running Matrix is very NOT easy… But being a NAS was the easiest part, by far. Stick the drives in, turn on, follow the short manual that came with it to configure, and let it do its thing.
I had considered running a DIY for years, and eventually just caved and bought a Synology 1522+ NAS. It lets me run my Plex server and Matrix server, and it just handles all the config and updates for me easily.
The decision was that I wanted to backup my hobbies, not have backup BE my hobby.
I only care if the new guy gives me back the content I paid for when the game first came out.
