This is something I’ve been saying for a while.

The right constantly fearmongers about pedophiles because CSAM is a really easy tool to frame someone. It’s a crime that requires minimal evidence and creates significant disgust.

Expect more of this.

To be honest, I was never prepared to know what “hoisted by one’s own pitard” meant, and knowing today, I still have no clue how this was ever relevant to any time period.

A pitard is a timed bomb used to to blow down a door or wall. The idiom is about blowing yourself up mistakenly instead. Were people using these routinely at some point?

Because there is nothing in this world more sacred than corporate intellectual property and the copyright code that protects capital. /s

You need to read the article.

Factory Farms aren’t making the AI images, researchers are. The complaint, apparently, is that AI image generators aren’t trained on enough animal cruelty to realistically depict a modern slaughterhouse.

This is a problem because the author of this article thinks that in the future, people will rely on AI image generators to understand the world around them, and honestly, if that’s already the assumption, then we are cooked.

That air force guy who died in Texas is getting the same treatment.

They really sang the national anthem, killed a troop on the field, and then played football on the turf still soaked in his blood.

Social media is covered with videos from every angle of his body crumpling into the ground. You could probably stitch them all together into a grotesque 360-degree bullet-time of his death.

Imagine serving in the Air Force for 15 years and then losing your life at the Alamodome, in service to the social media hype cycle.

Honestly, this has become the standard attitude towards human life from most Christians these days. More people than I realize seem to suspect that he deserved it, just because they can’t accept this as a freak accident and think this was a smiting.

I’m struggling to understand why anyone would join the Fediverse if this is a dealbreaker.

ActivityPub is like RSS and Sendmail had a baby that doesn’t respect your privacy at all. Every time you post, comment, or even vote, it’s blasted out to every server and user within the blast radius. If you delete something, there are dozens of databases and image proxy caches ready to ignore the delete request and host your regrettable post forever.

Every time you send a DM, you have to trust all the admins of both instances involved not to read the messages.

Way more is visible than it appears. With the right API calls people know what you upvoted and downvoted.

No, Charlie Kirk got shot in the neck and died. Crowder got shot in the butthole, and it blew his balls off on the way out, but he survived.

It’s a sizeable movement motivating people to vote against fascism. If you have a problem with that then I guess I’m not surprised you’re carrying water for Mark Zuckerberg in the comments.

Oh wow, in your hypothetical, the DevOps manager is an incompetent moron. AI Agents will never recover from this one.

It’s weird that you think you get a say about how other people have sex.

Keep it at church, creep.

I have a friend that works there. They told me about this, and I was like “per day?”

I was not prepared to learn that the budget was less than a dollar per day. Might as well just stop using AI agents that that point.

Honestly, any “creative business” that still does business through Mark Zuckerberg should have corrected themselves years ago. The next best time is today.

With these new terms, any creative business left on Facebook and IG needs to be called out for agreeing to Meta’s terms. This is the line artists can’t pass. Staying on Meta is scab behavior.

Doing business with Meta at all should be a reputational liability.

Oh thank God! I rest easy knowing that it is not legal for the president to declare martial law. The law being reliably enforced, and the president being law-abiding, as things currently are. /s

You really don’t understand the French.

If they raise taxes because of this, the next one will burn as well.

I would wager that everything you post on Lemmy, including your votes, end up ingested by an AI within an hour.

It’s called ActivityPub. It’s basically RSS on steroids. The content here is about as public as it gets.

It wouldn’t even be fair to call it “scraping”, you just run an instance and the data pours in like a firehose.

It’s really important to know this if you’re on the Fediverse. If you’re here for privacy, big oof.

Masturbator/Dildo software that integrates with an EEG to scan your brain, know when you’re about to cum, and then edge you over and over again.

I can’t be the only one who wanted the full res picture. You’re welcome.
