Missing the point again, it’s almost comical lol
Thanks for your invaluable input, but I found an answer to my question and we can end this here. Hopefully I’ll never have to interact with you again in the future! Have a nice day

Screenshots of FG’s FFXV repack page, I couldn’t find a way to embed them into the comment from my Lemmy client without uploading them to the instance.
You can go to FG’s, search “Final Fantasy XV”, click on the second result, and then go to the bottom of FG’s post to see a spoilered section containing links to the release I’ve been talking about
Fixed.
Email aliasing services, which are genuinely good services to use, strip those pixels from inbound emails. At least Firefox Relay, Addy and SimpleLogin do

You’re acting awfully smug and, like the pot calling the kettle black, doing so without an ounce of self-awareness.

Once again, I have no idea what you’re talking about.
It’s not an upcoming repack, it’s a game from 2018, cracked ahead of release thanks to EA’s Origin launcher pushing an unprotected (no Denuvo) demo executable. Comments in the Discuss section at the bottom of FG’s page show that the repack was online on March 16 2018.
I’m not talking about the mobile game, but about the “WINDOWS EDITION” V1261414 NON-HV. As I already mentioned, after the link to the HV repack, there’s a spoilered section with links to the old, non-HV repack and I’m asking if anyone knows whether this version, using CODEX release, is the one with the unprotected .exe or not

I know, that’s why I specified in the OP that I’m asking about the CODEX release (at the end of FG’s post, hidden behind a spoiler “older, non-hv repack”), not the DenuvOwO one

I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make, to be honest… I may need a bit more info lol

In the past, before Denuvo? Yes, but Denuvo is another beast and cracks are mostly bypasses (Denuvo still present, and its checks are spoofed) if I’m not mistaken

probably being able to go from star system to star system without having to open and use the stellar map and click on the star you want to warp to
edit: yeah
The studio has also added what it calls “seamless warping”, meaning you can just lock onto the brightest star in the sky and travel straight there without visiting the galactic map.

I moved to torrminatorr, should be linked in the megathread or fmhy too, if I’m not mistaken

If I’m not mistaken, the russian forum usually has standalone patches too. if not, you can probably get the full game updated to the latest version from wherever and copy-paste everything into the game’s folder
“came out of beta”, though. in the first few days, or weeks, after the official release, there was extensive discussion about the issues and shortcomings of Cosmic, if I recall correctly
edit: whoops, I was too slow
Read somewhere that sometimes it’s best to ask for obfuscation of personal info rather than straight up removal, as a middle ground you can both agree on, e.g. truncating your name and surname in your reviews.
If you’re not in a country with strong personal information rights, try that next; if you are, you may need to contact your local data protection authority to file a complaint
nobody’s personal device hygiene is perfect
fair point. guess I’ll try to understand a bit better how everything works before making a decision
side note: I like how in this thread we have a crow, a f3nyx and a raccoon lol
Interesting, how useful is it if I’m always behind a VPN and browse privately (hardened browser, ad blocker, no-script, never logged in etc.)?
May be wrong but the way I see it it doesn’t help me much?
I installed it by adding their repo to F-droid and it worked, try that
IronFox from here:
https://github.com/ironfox-oss/IronFox
desktop should “leak” more or less the same data, I think
Weird, my Fennec must’ve had additional configurations I forgot about since it didn’t give out that info. I uninstalled it for IronFox so I can’t check it! I mentioned LibreWolf but that’s on desktop, so no gyro info there
I have no answer to your question, but if you’re looking for alternatives, hardened Firefox forks such as LibreWolf, Fennec, IronFox etc all have varying degrees of anti-fingerprinting features. I know for sure that Fennec withholds battery and gyro data, but gives timezone data, while IronFox can spoof the latter with a toggle and reports a spoofed screen size

I’m not too sure, maybe? If the tracking pixel is on a domain known to serve ads or trackers, it might, but if it’s on a legitimate domain (e.g. your ISP’s) I don’t think it can, since you’d have to have added the ISP’s domain to the Pi-hole blacklist
