This! Podman rootless quadlets is so powerful and beautifully simple. Just look at that faaar superior security model and hos it doesnt even need a service to manage services because it just integrates natively with systemd I replaced my entire container layer from Rocker Swarm way back with K8s. Then it dawned on me I dont want the pods to move to another node by themselves anyway and then I just moved to Podman quadlets managed Ansible. Oh, and the podman pods are awesome as well.

I use kanidm because the footprint is lower than the alternatives you mention, and it’s written in Rust.
What a weird comment. That’s like saying using the window wipers is using the car wrong. Sure you can go without but when your shit crashes because you thought you were cool not using them you learn they serve an important purpose even though it may not be what seems to be the primary goal.

2·3 months agoWe’re more than 125 000 employees globally using M$ Office 365. It’s cheaper, more secure, far superior for collaboration than the locally installed apps IMO. Works on and Linux distro with a JavaScript capable browser. Google suite is even better but the people calling the shots have a fetish for M$. Saying the web versions are not professional is odd. Maybe we just don’t share the definition of professional

1·7 months agoYou can bake haproxy and acme.sh into a container yourself. Haproxy is hands down the best performing/least resource consuming RP. Dynamic management, like mimicing Traefiks service discovery, can be a bit tricky though. Yes, it doesn’t support ACME itself but once you get passed the “hello world” RP’ing and need something more advanced, like ACME DNS01, Haproxy with acme.sh is your buddy for life.

11·8 months agoNo times 2. Monarchs don’t really roll in money, and to elaborate let’s dive into your first statement, and why it’s off. Money is only really power if you have the freedom to buy with it as you want. Monarchs have very little freedom of any in that regard. Often you’ll find that the vast majority of the so-called appanage comes with a note of exactly what they should pay for. Like, paying for renovations of buildings you don’t appreciate living in and stills being told to live in it. Agreed, they do live a rather decent lifestyle, and there’s no reason to feel sorry for monarchs’ financial setup, but it comes at a hefty price of a lifetime commitment to no freedom in some regards. Personally I really appreciate the royal family in Denmark. The Danish king is a wise, highly trained military man, who also is a father driving his kids to school in a flatbed bicycle. It’s just good PR for a country to have a king (and queen) like that.

101·8 months agoDo you know what happens to trademarks and patents when a country starts threatening its (previous) allies with military invasion and tradewars, and start undermining the values of those allies? You’re right! It goes into the square hole! Heck, maybe I’m going to start a new software company tomorrow called Microsoft, and then threaten left and right with all crazy shit if anybody complains. Nobody will care about US trademarks since US disqualified itself by now.

1·1 year agoAs a Dane living in Sweden for a handful of years I see that actual racism in DK is not that pronounced, but rather there’s a wide-spread attention to people moving to DK who may not contribute to society, and that’s because the Danish financial models are somewhat fragile. Free healthcare and not just free education but that you actually get paid while studying to make room to focus does leave DK somewhat vulnerable to exploitation. This sometimes shows as scepticism, but that’s not racism.
In Sweden however racism is a much bigger problem. Unlike Danes, Swedes always almost say what they mean but leave out the punchline. Never mistake ppl leaving out the racist opinions and comments from the fact that a relative large group of Swedes are really racist. I see my non-swedish friends become unwanted assimilated time and time again. Swedes go home, close the door thoroughly, turn down the light and then they racist out, oh boy! Swedish politicians occasionally talk about how to do more to integrate people but there’s little to no actions put forward. Looking back at Denmark you’ll see many creative initiatives to ensure integration and a clear expectation: If you need help you’ll get help. Whether it’s healthcare or education or other sorts of help. And in return you need to contribute as much as you can in solidarity with society. Danes don’t mind paying 43% in income tax because they see and use what it gives in return.
Back to your comment. Can you share examples of Denmark being “super racist”?

It’s so impressively thought out. I got my mind blown when the physics teacher told us that 1 calorie is the amount of energy it takes to heat 1cc by 1°C. Suddenly you realise that someone actually put some effort into this whole system
