Wasn’t it mostly disregarded by now? There were no evidence for any major struggle or any other major extinction event for Neanderthals at the time, quite the contrary modern humans that came from where Neanderthals lived have their DNA. Probably because luck actually plays little role in being rich. Without luck those born rich will still be rich. With luck those born poor will still be poor.
