Marathons don’t move at the speed of business though. Progress moves business faster. Commerce IS business. Fast businesses use speed to move faster than their clients speed.

    Business, business business. Speed. Solutions.

Edit: how am I being downvoted lol - obviously what I wrote is nonsense straight from every Amazon, UPS, IBM commercial every made. Maybe I’m just moving at the speed of business. Keep up!

I bought a Trayvax Contour about 6-8 years ago, I’m not even sure but it’s been a while. It’s still perfect and I use it every day. I bought a second one five years ago maybe and gave it as a gift. That person still uses theirs too every day.

It satisfies all my wallet requirements and I Never have that “itch” to see what could be better. It’s invisible in my life in the best way.

The Contour is sourced and Made in the USA and comes backed by the Trayvax 65-Year Heirloom Warranty

  • I didn’t hate this episode, but I feel like it’s more Dr Who than trek maybe? Like each week it’s something that’s not about Star Trek almost? Hard to describe.

When was Pike last, acting like a captain. Are they even in space? Ten episodes only and so far not a lot has happened in space, or overall plot outside of character relationships.

I’m not a writer or a critic but I’d like to see the captain be a captain. I think if this had been a tng episode, the orions would be a smaller part of it and the main focus would be the competence porn of solving the problem. Instead the problems are always hand-waved away, it’s talked about but it’s not the characters journey of solving it. That part just happens. The Orion plot almost became the A plot.

Totally not my typical type of movie. I watched it because the cover art made me curious. I get what he was doing, but it definitely didn’t land with me. I just kept asking “why” to myself through the whole film and never got into it.

Honestly felt the same about Poor Things from the same director. He’s got his thing and it’s not for me.

  • I know you asked for selfhost, it just didn’t seem worth it to me when I looked into it. I switched to migadu for hosting my email service. didn’t want to run my own server but now with this setup I can go anywhere and keep the same email at any time.

There are plenty of alternatives. I liked being limited by emails sent/received instead of domains and email Addresses.

Works well for me, 5 months into this setup.

Late 30’s divorce here about 5 years ago… It takes a while to start over all the life planning but once it gets rolling, things are so much better. That emotional bullshit you fight every day lifts off your shoulders and you can be more focused on the important stuff.

You won’t notice it for a while. Keep going.

  • I was an early adopter to Plex, came over from Boxee when it was a thing and bought a very inexpensive lifetime pass.

I jumped ship about a year ago to jellyfin. I use tailscale and just help people set it up. After initial setup, it’s a toggle and start jellyfin and it functions pretty close to Plex. My users use the Onn box or Nvidia shield. Almost nothing has to transcode. I had issues with poorly encoded mp4 files but mkv streams flawlessly without transcode. Transcode itself is limited by graphics chip.

One note, I don’t add people to my tailscale, each user has their own tailnet and then I join it to mine by inviting them to my server. This gets around the 3 user limit.

Overall, some annoyance and pain but not bad and people went along with my plan and now it’s just normal.

My thing was, it’s my server. If they want what I have then buy an Onn or whatever and spend 15 minutes setting things up. Or don’t. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Every headline telling me how close they are to broke, or collapse or ruin… Makes me realize how much I don’t understand about economics and geopolitics because these headlines have been the same for the last two years.

I’m not saying it’s inaccurate but when I’m broke, I’m broke and I can’t keep paying rent for another two years.

I see 1000 men dead/wounded a day, 200 vehicles, ships, etc every day and yet with a gdp the same as New York state they seem to have unlimited resources. How would New York alone fund a war for 4 years and run a country and have an entire military. None of it makes sense to me how they are still fighting.

  • My neighbor had one like this in his tree, bald face hornets. He would mow under it and do yardwork, they never bothered him. However, me across the street got stung on two separate occasions before I asked to split the cost of an exterminator because those bastards kept stinging me in the face. I hate killing things but I hate being stung more.
