Image Comics will be sometime soon. Youngblood, Spawn, they’re all so amazing, I like them all so much more than marvel characters and I’m a big marvel fan. They tried spawn back in the day but I think they botched the movie pretty hard and the HBO animated series just didn’t do the og content justice.

Edit: Also, DRAGONLANCE by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Can’t believe Amazon picked up Wheel of Time instead of Dragonlance. For those of you unfamiliar with the series, it’s a high fantasy classic dungeon and dragons story. Some call it “The DnD bible”. There’s a core 6 books and then 190 additional novels - I remember going into book stores and there being an entire wall of these guys. With such a huge cult following I really can’t understand why this hasn’t been picked up.

  • It is syntactically two independent clauses (or a compound sentence) joined by an em dash rather than a single, indivisible thought. Each half contains its own subject and verb structure. Punctuation does not equate to inseparability. You assume second half acts as a pivot (“setup for a ‘but’”). But look at the actual words: there is no “but” or ideological reversal present. They were expressing two distinct emotional stances: a political/institutional cynicism (“I don’t care if they target a government agency I don’t like”) followed by a cynical motive attribution (“they’re just another bunch of assholes out to make a profit”).

  • What you said was “I don’t care if they target a government agency I don’t like - they’re just another bunch of assholes out to make a profit.” not “even if they attack someone I don’t like, I still won’t celebrate it because I know what their motivation is.”.

In or out of context, "I don’t care if they target a government agency I don’t like"means the exact same thing. It’s a stand alone statement not impacted by your second sentence.

Your rephrasing makes more sense and the two parts of your sentence can not be separated without changing the meaning.

  • uh sure. i’m a software engineer of 25 years. i’ve had google, facebook, amazon, you name it, try to get me in to interview with them without me sending resumes. I’m not a top tier super nerd coder but I’m not bad either. These stories all sound like bullshit to me. The whole “THE AI AGENT SWARM BROKE OUT OF CONFINEMENT AND STARTED TALKING TO EACH OTHER”… again, I’m a mid swe… They weren’t sandboxed to begin with - some fucking moron at anthropic gave all the agents access to a shared package registry. A simple “Do you see anyway these agents could communicate” prompt would’ve caught it. Something so fucking stupid that I wouldn’t be surprised if an intern would’ve caught it. They’re not sandboxed if they all have read/write access to a shared registry, it’s basically a big message board.

These stories just stink like marketing. I use Fable all day, I have to for my current job, it low key sucks ass.
