The river is the Jordan, the sea is the Mediterranean. The area in between is Palestine + Israel. If you say “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” it sounds to me like there’s no space for Israel or Israelis.

Just the same as saying that the whole area should be Israeli.

I don’t know the deep beliefs this guy holds, but this costume + “from the river to the sea” (= ethnic cleansing/destruction of Israel) are tells for me.

I fully agree with all of the above regarding support for human rights and the treatment of Gazans, but for me this costume + “from the river to the sea” (meaning ethnic cleansing of Israelis) are clear tells. Even if he isn’t an antisemite or he isn’t anymore, he should’ve been a smarter. Would we show the same understanding to a public figure who openly used the N-word toward someone unironically?

I understand why Ed Sheeran would drop him and I don’t think it should be particularly controversial.

This is basically a list of things that are wrong with the U.S. or problems in the world.

I don’t understand how this proves that capitalism is bad. If the world still hasn’t solved all its problems, then capitalism is inherently bad?

By all metrics, the world is much much better now than it was 100 years ago. And it’s mostly thanks to market economy.

All countries that have tried something different have had to resort to some flavour of capitalism in order to have any meaningful development.

Also, nobody said our economic system in its current form it’s perfect.

I know it is. I’ll still interact with it and say my opinion. Don’t really care about the down votes.

Everything you see, use, touch, eat every day has been made possible by capitalism. If not for capitalism, we’d all still be farming and dying by 40.
