201·8 days agoI wish websites like these weren’t vibe coded because they could offer real value. I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending it because I can’t guarantee the information is/will be correct.
Edit: I just noticed it’s partly made by dansup, I guess it makes sense why AI is involved.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the best way to take donations for an online charitable foundation?
5·16 days agoImo the “best” way would be to use different popular services/platforms. Some commonly used ones would be:
Maybe cryptocurrency can be added to that list as well, Trocador would probably help with that but this requires some amount of technical knowledge depending on how you use/implement it.

It would be helpful if you were more specific about the feed categories you’re looking for (e.g: specific hobbies, technology, …). Or is this supposed to be a generic question?
As I mentioned in my other comment, there are two founders, one of which does not like the action of the other.
I’m not necessarily looking for a new discussion, I just thought it was important to clarify since it reads differently when you have more context.
I doubt those that are unaware would look much deeper into it.
It was the co-founder, Daniel, that made the donation, the other founder, Fredrik, “did not like that he made this donation”.
Edit: I’ll include a link to Mullvad’s official response to the controversy since it’s relevant.
I’m not defending Mullvad, but this does lack more context.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Is there any way to watch or download age restricted youtube videos on debian 13.7 without a google or youtube account?
22·25 days agotorrent-tube is relevant, you’d still need someone else to download the video and upload the torrent unfortunately.

Unfortunately I don’t think I have any advice I can give to discover PeerTube creators other than just browsing on PeerTube instances.
But what I can recommend doing is reaching out to your favourite YouTube creators and ask if they can mirror their videos to PeerTube. Obviously they aren’t guaranteed to do so, but the more people ask, the more likely it becomes they’ll eventually do it or at least consider it.
You can use accessibility and redundancy (backup of their content) as reasoning.

Since physical places wasn’t specified, how much nicer the threadiverse (Lemmy) is compared to Reddit, way less toxic from my experience.
