I know two middle-aged sisters who moved from California to Texas in order to be more Jesusy. They immediately developed health issues and can’t get Medicaid. They blame it on liberals. Sad.

        • “Biden spent so much money on sex change operations for illegal immigrants that Trump literally had no choice but to cut Medicaid. Blame them, not Trump.”

        • “Elon Musk pretended to be MAGA and DOGE was really made up of nothing but Democrat staffers”

        • “Trump is good and therefore anything bad that happens isn’t his fault and there is no reason to look into it because Faith in Christ is all I need”

Right but I think they wanted an actual answer about this case from the person they asked about the specific situation.

To answer, Tim is right–they have no rationale that I can discern. They’re the last surviving family of a woman I lived with for several years, and I’m barely in touch.

As someone who moved from a deep blue state to a similar deep red state: it starts as a way to stand out as “one of the good ones”. People pick up quickly that you aren’t from around, and once they learn that you’re from a “commie state” you’re cooked. But also, some people move with an idealized view of conservative areas, and if they’re still having problems it’s only because conservatives haven’t conserved enough.

I’m lucky I moved for school and could settle in with similar minded folks, otherwise I would have needed to move much sooner lol
