Note that while he resigned from this current Congress, he did get reelected to the next Congress, so he’ll still be a US rep in Florida once the session starts in late January. Just kind of an extended two month vacation really.

      Maybe not, according to https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/11/21/us/trump-gaetz-news/5e296b83-bf2f-50cc-96b8-5049b764b8a9?smid=url-share:

Absent extraordinary events, we do not expect to see Gaetz back in the House next Congress. When he submitted his resignation to the House last week after being tapped for attorney general, he wrote: “I do not intend to take the oath of office for the same office in the 119th Congress.”

It is always possible that Gaetz can invoke the ancient privilege of “SIKE!!!” And take it all back. But then the ethics report will get released…

Unfortunately for him I mumbled “no takesies backsies” when he resigned so that’s off the table

Ah, but did Mike Johnson have his fingers crossed when he accepted Beavis’s resignation?

He’s clearly the Surgeon General of Beverly Hills.

Wouldn’t that mean the house investigation can be resumed? I don’t think he wants that.

They are counting the media interest will die out. That’s why this should be released NOW not having any delays. Those are only to wait for things calming and then quietly dismissing it.
