    Tuberculosis vaccines are not given to the general population and they are not part of childhood vaccine regime.

    They are given to vulnerable people when there is an outbreak.

    That said this may be a strain that is drug resistant, which would explain the severity of the outbreak.

      Thank you. I recently listened to the newest episode of Sawbones and Dr. Sydney mentions the tuberculosis outbreak and this specifically.

      The BCG vaccine is still part of many national vaccination plans in Europe to this day.

      This is not the case in the US, at least I believe that since levels were lower they never started it.
