    I truly don’t think it’s about hate. I think it’s just apathy, which is worse.

      If they were apathetic they wouldn’t fight so hard to prevent a single red cent being used to help people

        It’s not out of hate, though. It’s about greed. They don’t give a single shit who they have to run over to get what they want.

          Oh, the cruelty is icing on the cake.

          These people are consumed with inferiority complexes. It’s not enough they have more than you. They have to bully you, too.

        I have to agree. The majority of them enjoy the cruelty. It’s the only explanation.

          My theory on the general nature of the “root cause”? Fear of the very idea that they don’t actually matter. The fact that the lie is soon fed to them from birth doesn’t change that it’s bullshit.

          One of my favorite lines ever in any media has got to be master Yoda explaining the danger of fear. Tied is the “litany against fear” from Dune, but the point is to teach hate, first teach fear.

            I’m not going to get into popular culture memes, but the root cause you’ve stated is correct;

            It’s all rooted in insecurity, which is fear. It’s all rooted in fear, and a general deeply rooted inferiority complex.

            But instead of working through the fear, into self-awareness, they decide they’re not the problem. Everyone else is bullying them. Then they decide to be cruel, to strike back, when sadly, they never realize their attitude is the problem, the whole time.

            These people should be pitied, and there should an attempt to be helped. To a degree. Sometimes, it’s a lost cause. Especially when they inherit resources that allow them to continue their delusion, with minimal to no consequences. Sometimes, you just have to cut some people loose, and cut all contact.

            We know who those people are.

        They don’t give two shits whether we live or die. As long as they get more.

          That…sounds like hate. I don’t mean to be pedantic, but I think it’s important. Not only to call a spade a spade, either. I’ve witnessed a close family member insist a hateful view or stance was not actually hate if you’re “doing it for the right reasons”.

          To clarify, I don’t think you were taking that stance. I think we probably agree on the relevant issues, in fact. So I regret my earlier choice of words; I was unnecessarily combative in how I phrased it.

          In the end, to so thoroughly succumb to greed that you justify acting so hatefully to the rest of the population is deeply disturbing.

            Businesses will do the cheapest, easiest option for whatever it is they do. The question always comes down to what is cheap and/or easy. “Make the number go up as soon as possible.”

            They do not care. Just like they don’t care about the coal they burn.
