Edit: Added additional Week 0 games. Also took off some information (Network, Betting Lines, Over/Under) since I don’t have the information for all of these games. Added venues. The time/date information might be outdated so please let me know if I need to edit any of these games.
It’s a shame the power matchups are so lopsided… I’d normally give Navy a chance to keep things interesting but without Ken Niumatololo I’m not sure.
I’m actually really curious about the sicko games, particularly UTEP @ Jacksonville State. I have no idea how good Jax St will be making the jump up to FBS. I suspect they won’t be as successful as JMU, Coastal, Liberty, et al. Also interested in Ohio @ SDSU. I think the Bobcats will pull off an upset, which seems to be a popular opinion since the line has moved in their favor.
I forgot to add the other games, I am in the process of adding the G5 games to this thread as well. Thanks for the reminder!
My picks:
- Although my brain overwhelming knows Notre Dame will win, I’m going to go with my heart and say [Navy]. Anyone who says otherwise hates America!
- The real [USC] will win at the Coliseum. Let’s see if Caleb Williams is going to get a second Heisman.
- As a secondary fan of UTSA, I’m rooting for [JSU]. The true Gamecocks!
- [New Mexico State].
- Although Vanderbilt will win, [Hawaii] is my pick. It would be huge for them to upset an SEC team on the road.
- [LA Tech].
Edit: Added my picks for the games that I added to this thread. Changed the wording on the Notre Dame/USC comments.
Notre Dame does get to mitigate some of the problem with playing a service academy since it’s the first week so they can spend more time preparing for them specifically. I’d expect Notre Dame to win but maybe the jet lag and knocking off the rust will give Navy a chance.
