With the yank of a chain and an ever-so-slight nudge of the nose of the football, the Roadrunners’ hopes of a comeback fell short at TDECU Stadium, and it would be a shame if it was the last time they get a shot at an opponent who could become a rival. Houston’s 17-14 victory marked the second season opener in a row the Cougars have outplayed UTSA, but also the second opener in a row they breathed a huge sigh of relief after doing so.

It’s an Express article, so of course it’s going to be written with a homer bias, but I don’t think you can gloss over the 3 interceptions Frank Harris threw. Or how the loss of Franklin to the transfer portal affected offensive production. Hopefully this game is the wakeup call for the Roadrunners to step up their game in a stronger conference.
