Do a search for “pedophile pastor”, “pedophile priest” or “pedophile preacher” and you will find page after page after page of sexual crimes against children… To lighten the mood do an image search for golf cheat and count all the american presidents you see.

There are large numbers of pastors, priests, and teachers. Even if we expect pedophilia to be no more common in these professions than others, due to their proximity to children such crimes will be common. So I don’t think the takeaway from this kind of google search should be that such professions are especially pedophilic.

It’s not the profession that’s the problem, but there is evidence that problem people gravitate to such professions where they have that position of power.

I agree, but I don’t think a google search for “teacher pedophile” should change your opinion one way or the other.

I’m guessing he’ll be granted a presidential pardon soon. They’re making america a haven for rapists, paedos etc. Andrew Tate too pimp manipulator extraordinare. I remember arguing about him with a maga who assured me he’d never be allowed back into america. Probably decided Tate is innocent by now though.

Name an industry that if they had this many child sexual predators, wouldn’t be immediately shut down and banned from operating ever again.

Seriously. Can you imagine if, say, NASA had the same ratio of child sexual predators as Christian churches do? Or Applebee’s? Or Jiffy Lube? They’d all have to close up shop. Hell, there’s a daycare in my town that was in business for 30 years, and a teacher got busted for diddling a kid. That place was done for THAT WEEK. Doors closed, never opened again. Probably tens of thousands of kids came through that place just fine, but all it took was ONE, and they were kaput.

These fucking churches need to be shut the fuck down. Those black metal guys in the 90s had the right idea.

Why is it always the church? That’s rhetorical by the way. Fuck organized religion that makes everyone bend the knee.

Because “the church” only ever attract megalomaniacal fantasists who are prone to abuse their power.

Bad people are still bad in church, despite baseless apologist screeching about their fantasy of skydad making morals objective.

In the south we have an idiom “Birds of a feather flock together”, which means people tend to associate with others of similar morals, ethics, beliefs. So, needless to say, I’m hardly surprised. Trump associate and pastor? There was almost no chance this filth was anything BUT a pedophile.

In the north we have a saying “don’t leave your kids alone with a pastor”. It isn’t catchy, but it’s good advice nonetheless

Nah! Its probably just one more coincidence, don’t you think?

I’ve seen a bunch of movies where the cop asks people the same question and they point to a guy, the same guy. Those shows are fun. Because of the coincidences. Am I right?

As I always say, keep your children away from religion. They are the pedophiles, and they accuse everybody else of it. It’s a cult!

And even if you think it’s not a cult, your children will have plenty of time to meet God or whatever when they’re old enough to make the decision on their own. Your god isn’t so weak that he needs to indoctrinate impressionable children to gain followers, is he?

That’s the thing that always bothered me about religion. There’s no sales pitch, its just indoctrination. There’s a million different varieties of religion, and supposedly only one of them is “correct”

Judaism seems to make the most sense to me of the monotheistic varieties because there is no demi gods like Christianity. But clearly religion isn’t about religion, it’s more about having an in group.

Its all fake but I don’t despise it all, some people seem to need it to make any attempt at being a decent person. However who could think its okay to indoctrinate a child? There’s also the thing in america of swearing on the flag everyday at school or whatever… Wtf.

It’s like when you hear some hardcore Christians (and probably other hardcore religious people) say that without the threat of eternal damnation they would be going around raping and murdering other people all over the place. And to them that’s the main justification for the need for religion.

To me that’s just a massive red flag that they are psychopaths and completely horrible people. If the only thing keeping you in check is angry sky daddy then you have something profoundly wrong with you.

Religion is a net harm in my opinion. For every person that is inspired to do good, an equal amount do as much or greater harm by doing bad in the name of religion. That’s not even to mention the weird thought processes that arise from the afterlife concept… Climate change not mattering being a prime example.

I fail to see how people need a moral code written by god to be good. I think if you somehow could mind wipe the earth of religion, there would be a similar number of equally good and bad people here. You certainly wouldn’t have to worry about dominionists provoking war to start the beginnings of their idealized end times.

Just a FYI, Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all Abrahamic religions. Read the Torah, Bible and Quran and you will see that many stories are either identical or very similar, because they are all parts of the same religion. And even worse, these stories were stolen from many other cultures. None of it is real. It’s not even written well. Harry Potter or James Bond novels are better written. Religion is just mythology, none of it is real. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a lunch date with Zeus & Thor.

Few, if any, were more high-profile than Morris, who steadily involved himself in state and national politics after founding Gateway in 2000. In 2017, Morris was tapped by Gov. Greg Abbott to help support the so-called “Bathroom Bill” that sought to ban transgender people from using their preferred bathroom — in part by arguing that it would allow children to be sexually abused.

Wow, the GOP actually hired an expert with hands on experience in child sexual abuse. Thats and unusual departure from their regular practice of inexperienced and unqualified people put in positions to decide legislation.
