While I hate paywalls, too, I encourage everyone to click the link anyway.
Every time you use an archive link, you are one less metric in the voice of telling these sites what you want to read.
Firefox Reader Mode works just fine for most pay walls, including this one, while still registering the metric for a conversion.

Share it to Firefox, and click the little page in the browser bar to open reader mode. Sometimes you have to refresh it to get past the prompt. Works most of the time, it’s a great trick.
