This reads like German citizens who said they knew nothing of what was happening at concentration camps down the road from their town. Absolutely despicable. “We’re a very moral community” my ass.

Bro they have a sign up that says “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU SHALL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.” according to this article, which is a hair raising echo of “Work makes you free” or whatever the Auschwitz sign said.

It mentions it non-stop since the start, the town is home to some company called GEO who hosts detention centres and now houses ICE detainees. It talks about how GEO has embed itself into the community, becoming the largest provider for the region and no local people protest against it.

tl;dr: This town is hosting a concentration camp, the locals refuse to take issue with it.

Aye, it surprises most folks who move to the ‘country’ how many of the people out there are employed in the prison industry. I think where I was in a rural area (about 20 people per square mile) about 5-8% of the jobs in the entire county were because of the local prison.

Most people in the rural areas around prisons work on the local farms. Its hard, often dangerous work, and workers have to be on their toes. Those who are too stupid or lazy to do that work end up in working in the local prison, so they’re recruiting from the dumbest, laziest local rejects.

The article could perhaps do a better job giving more background info on GEO Group, but the short answer is that GEO is the point. They, along with CoreCivic, are the primary entities contracting with the government to detain and hold whoever they are presently disappearing (read: providing the state side concentration camps).

They are apparently using money to encourage the locals to turn a blind eye.

Lol agreed. Writers who enjoy writing needs a job to pay the bills and is expressing their passion maybe. Sucks for us who just want the raw news info. The author needs to go write novels or something.

I don’t hate Ai, however I do think it’s not being used or harnessed correctly. I also believe that a lot of slop exists due to corner/expense cutting.

I remember Jena 6. I remember where I worked, and obsessively scanning the news before and after work. So “moral” 🤮
