Hell yeah, go Cocks! I will go into this season with unbelievable expectations, and inevitably be surprised when we don’t go 12-0 and get to the playoffs and win it all.

Some big names missing from the top 25: USC, Auburn, Florida State. Ouch! Surprised Arizona State and Illini are ranked as high as they are. I know Arizona State had a good performance vs Texas, but can’t recall much or any of that game in memory. Illini had a decent season last year, a hot head coach. Let’s see if they can sustain it this year.
Good guys at #24, I will be putting together my own ballot to show the pollsters what I think of their placement shortly.

As always, pre-season polls are deeply problematic, but with the amount of interest in CFB, if any of the more reputable ones stopped doing them, the media would simply pay that much more attention to worse polls.
