    As I predicted in this thread.

    What I didn’t know when I made that prediction is that they would save $12M if they waited to fire him after next season. I am kind of surprised they didn’t opt to save the cash, since they’re not going to realistically achieve much with a new HC.

      Yeah, I get that you can’t expect any school to give up on trying for success, but at some of them you’d think it makes more sense to let the contracts play out before you take your next bite at the apple.

        So it came out after the firing that apparently they settled on a $15M buyout. Not sure why Allen would agree to that, but it does save them a little.

        I also get the feeling that they see KU, UNC, and Duke doing well in football and they feel left out. More importantly, a lot of insiders are projecting a massive restructuring of FBS in about 5 years. If Indiana can’t demonstrate that they “add value” (barf) to the Super-Premier-TV-Fantasy League then they will be left behind like WSU and OSU.
