Not the corporate one, with 680 employees in Washington, D.C.
To keep Radio Free Europe from degrading to the level of Russian propaganda, any and all fascist influence must be removed and kept out of its administration.
If Radio Free Europe gets EU funding, it should be reincorporated in Europe and the remainder of its US operations relocated to Prague to avoid any American influence on its reporting and continued defense of democracy.
Most should offer alternative support options, even if they can’t promote them directly in their apps (a monopolistic practice on the part of app stores), given that forking over 30% of a subscription’s cost to Apple or Google isn’t something I’d want to do just to support an app’s development.
Definitely a good idea for mobile, though if on desktop, I’d suggest bypassing the website altogether and using a torrent aggregator such as Jackett, which can be integrated into qBittorrent via an extension.
In the case of 1337x.to, the megathread lists 1377x.to as the fake replica of it. In terms of quality, 1337x.to is one of the best public torrent indexers.
While I personally prefer not to use YTS releases due to their low quality, and can’t seem to find a legitimate YTS link that yts.mx would be the replica of, as long as you’re downloading via Prowlarr rather than going to the website itself, the only risk is the trustworthiness of the releases, rather than the possibility of ads or otherwise unwanted links on the website itself.
We can celebrate if and when they’re actually reinstated and the people who put them out of a job are put out of a job themselves.
Thanks again for your dedication! 👍
Also, while I was going to make a separate post about what the comment in the example GIF discussed, might be just as worth asking here.
While most unblockable communities were removed from the Lemmy Explorer list when blocked instance filtering was added, a few from unblocked instances remained on the list. After inquiring at !div0@lemmy.dbzer0.com, it seems that these few communities are blocked at the instance level. Is there any means by which communities blocked by a user’s home instance could be detected and filtered out of the Lemmy Explorer list?
The title is misleading, given that it’s not being directed towards the delivery of any new aid, but rather paying for aid that’s already been delivered.
No treaty ever awarded the Kuril Islands to the Soviet Union.
Personally, my main Linux usage so far has been the Steam Deck, which uses an immutable version of Arch Linux on which Flatpaks are the primary means of software installation.
The other main multi-distribution package formats seem to be Snaps and AppImages. AppImages seem to work anywhere, due to being self-contained, while Snaps have a dependency that appears to make them a viable alternative to flatpaks on systems other than the Steam Deck, which can’t easily make use of Snaps due to the immutability of SteamOS. There’s also Nix packages, though they don’t seem to be as prevalent as the other three.
Otherwise, most major Linux distributions also have their own native package formats, such as Deb packages for Debian and Ubuntu, Pacman for Arch Linux, and RPM for Red Hat and Fedora.
Not sure how difficult it is to maintain different Linux packages types for a program, but thanks for your effort to bring Blorp to Linux!
Will the Linux version be available as a Flatpak?
While media sources have always had agendas, I think the key difference now is the fact that people are relying more than ever on a oligopoly of social media platforms as their primary news source, rather than media outlets across the country.
Not only does an information oligopoly make it far easier for propaganda to be disseminated to national and international audiences, but it makes trading political favors for propaganda-backed political support far easier than ever before as well.
Republican sheep will toss their support behind Trump on any issue, so the numbers don’t reflect a well-informed public.
There’s been several non-sensationalized headlines for the French/British peace plan for Ukraine already, clickbait YouTube videos add nothing of value to the discussion.
Good to know; thanks again!
I’ve also noticed that the Block instance long left swipe action recently added to Lemmy Explorer doesn’t seem to function, despite the regular one functioning.
Thanks for your continued commitment to Arctic’s development!
Hopefully filters similar to those available for the “Browse federated communities” tab would be possible; thanks for all the improvements to Lemmy Explorer!
If that’s implemented, perhaps it could be done so with a toggle to enable or disable it? While I’d find online video rendering more useful than a link on mobile, others may want to see the comments or go to the original page for another reason.
No worries; glad to post bug reports as I find them! 👍
Not sure if there’s a way to federate PeerTube videos directly for viewing in Arctic, other than making a new post, but at the time of this reply, this video seems to be live.
That won’t keep them from harvesting user data.
