Personally I’m excited, as long as it gives more insight to the daily routine of a baseball player and all the things that come into play with running a baseball team for a full season. But I hated the over-dramatization of F1’s Drive to Survive, so I feel a little apprehension.

As a Brit with little to no knowledge of American sports systems (the games I get, but the systems behind them I don’t). I’ve really enjoyed the Netflix shows, Last Chance U, The Maple Leafs doc, and a couple of others, the Florida Gators doc etc.

They do a good job in my opinion. It’s a been a good gateway. Good insights if you are coming in knowing nothing.

Yeah I get that. I’m Dutch myself and I grew up playing baseball but the distance and the lack of people to talk to make it difficult to pick up on the intricacies behind the game. Even the guys I played with weren’t really following the MLB. And coverage here is almost exclusively focused on football.

Considering the offseason from the Sox, I think it’s going to be pretty underwhelming.

Considering I’m both a Yankees fan and a big baseball fan generally, I’m torn. I could see myself hate watching this for sure.

As far as dramatization goes, I think you’d be hard pressed to find a sport that lends itself to drama more than baseball. How can you not be romantic and all. Then again, the season is long and players are always coming up with whacky ways to entertain themselves in the dugouts so IDK how they’ll be able to spin that with a straight face.

All in all it sounds like a good way to attract new fans to the sport which I’m all for!

I’m all for drama if its real, but with Drive to Survive they fabricated story lines and created drama that wasn’t there which irked me.

But I agree, over a whole season there’s more than enough content to make a good doc. Especially with the 20th anniversary of the '04 team and the contrast with the '24 team, a new POBO, Cora’s last year of his contract, and coming off an underwhelming off season. More than enough drama probably
