American Christianity is the vessel of American Nazism

In 2015, I disliked Christianity, but harbored no desire to see it eliminated from society entirely. “An’ harm ye none…”

Now, in 2025, I’m convinced that democracy can only survive in the long run if Christianity, as a social force, dies entirely.

All religion is partially to blame for the stupidity of our species.

Christianity is directly responsible for the fascism in America.

        It’s inextricably linked.

If this offends you, go pray or something.

The fundamental flaw are the religions that have it baked into them that one of their core tenets is that they have to convert other people to their beliefs, by any means necessary. Otherwise, they have failed at their own religion. It’s almost like an MLM scheme.

Uh oh, “removed”… Did you say something about that other religion? Mods on this site seem to have a real soft spot for that other religion…

I said it was badass when it was first used, was talking about George Washington and stuff from the one article that was posted. Hate what it means now.

Thanks for sharing the info. Man that flag was kinda cool during the revolution and now it’s cringe and stupid.

Yes, yes, but you see, Harris failed to rebuke Biden on the campaign trail, so. Obviously this needed to happen.

Evangelicals are such dupes, they things the political right cares about them when they only give a shit about their vote.

At the same time the political right are such dupes, they think the evangelicals care about them when really they just want too use them to jump start rapture.

It’s like two guys trying to pickpocket each other so hard they end up wearing each other’s pants.

“They’re believers, Mr. Howard. Pentecostalist dispensationalists—they are saved, but they are surrounded by the unsaved, and they think their master is returning imminently, and anyone who isn’t saved by the time of his arrival is doomed. So they intend to save everyone whether or not they want to be saved…”

      –Charles Stross, The Apocalypse Codex

I trailed off that quote because it’s a spoiler.

sounds like they’re giving us the green-light to rebel.

    pine tree flag

The phrase “Appeal to Heaven” is a particular expression of the right of revolution used by British philosopher John Locke in his Second Treatise on Government. The work was published in 1690 and rejected the theory of the divine right of kings. In chapter 14:

And where the body of the people, or any single man, is deprived of their right, or is under the exercise of a power without right, and have no appeal on earth, then they have a liberty to appeal to heaven, whenever they judge the cause of sufficient moment. And therefore, though the people cannot be judge, so as to have, by the constitution of that society, any superior power, to determine and give effective sentence in the case; yet they have, by a law antecedent and paramount to all positive laws of men, reserved that ultimate determination to themselves which belongs to all mankind, where there lies no appeal on earth, viz. to judge, whether they have just cause to make their appeal to heaven.

It’s extremely generous of you to assume they know anything other than the most brain-stemmy calculous of “fabric word say heaven, it’s talking about the thing I like.”

Its current context is that of Armageddon.

The people who fly that flag these days are members of or supporting the end times accelerationist group, NAR, the New Apostolic Reformation.

The only thing they want to rebel against is life on earth so Jesus can come back.

See my post in this thread and search my other comments for NAR and 7 MM (7 mountain mandate).

This is a good one to start with: https://lemmy.ca/post/32347799/12610094

On June 11, Kelly Loeffler, the former senator from Georgia and current administrator of the SBA, participated in a ceremony where a new flag of the United States was raised over the agency’s headquarters. Just beneath that flag, on what appeared to be the same halyard, was an Appeal to Heaven flag. Sources tell WIRED that the “Appeal to Heaven” flag was raised for less than a day.

    Oh she’s a piece of shit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_Loeffler#COVID-19_insider_trading_investigation
