I can’t wait for the trial about it gunning them down is self defense,

if it is a trump appointed judge, then it will clearly be considered illegal, which mean the whole point of 2nd amendment (defend against a tryranic government is BS)

or reasonable judge, which will determine it is self defence, then let the fun begin.

I mean, honestly, even without violence, this would be a fantastic protest technique. Imagine if whenever there was an ICE raid, there were hundreds of people dressed indistinguishably from the ICE thugs. Normally this doesn’t work at protests. If you put on a fake LAPD uniform, they’ll arrest you for impersonating a police officer. But since these thugs aren’t in uniform, then you’re not impersonating an officer by dressing like them.

“ICE thug” should be the standard uniform for every protester. Watch as their raids collapse into absolute chaos as they can’t figure out who is actually on their team. Watch as the police thugs escorting ICE get completely confused as they don’t know who to shoot their rubber bullets and tear gas at. Just imagine protesters milling about in active raid scenes, walking in like they own the place, giving contradictory orders to ICE foot soldiers, etc. Hell, the protesters could “detain” many of the people being seized, load them into unmarked vans, drive them a mile away, and then just let them go.

This can be weaponized, all without using actual weapons. Protesters could dress up like these ICE thugs and completely destroy their operations. ICE have forgotten that cops where uniforms not just to protect the public, but also so that cops can tell who is actually a police officer.

It’s time ICE learned exactly why police wear uniforms. By not wearing uniforms, they’ve made themselves comically vulnerable to mass disruption by nonviolent protesters. They’ve completely destroyed their own chain of command, and they are vulnerable.

Where’s the well regulated militia you Americans scream about

So, one could argue that the well regulated militia in question is constituted by the National Guard, as they nominally are the armed forces of individual States, and can be nationalized under certain circumstances.

Except for the fact that Trump just nationalized the California National Guard when he’s nominally not supposed to…

The majority of citizens are not “fine” with it, we are watching the results of the capture of every branch of government.

The template for this actually played out in Texas. Texas has a very weak governors office in terms of formal powers. Under George W Bush the Republican party systematically took control of each state office and coordinated their efforts to effect the agenda of Bush, Perry, and now Abbott.

They are doing the same thing at the federal level with project 2025 under Trump, they took the supreme court, and now they have removed the career civil servants that would refuse illegal orders from Trump.

If history of other dictatorships is any guide the powers of ICE will be expanded steadily and the other law enforcement agencies and military will be continually overshadowed by ICE and eventually subordinated to them, like the Republican guard of Iran or the SS in Nazi Germany.

Hey dumbass, it turns out that:

      1. Each state has its own laws about this. Where I live the same state constitution that ALSO specifically grants us the right to own firearms for self defense explicitly forbids belonging to any private militia.

      2. My part (Democrats) is so overwhelmingly anti gun that 99% of aren’t armed to begin with. So precious militia you’re smugly pretending to ask about? Yeah you’re looking at them in the post to begin with. They’re all boot licking fascists.

Nice try though, pretending disarming Americans is the answer to anything other than more deportations, more oppression, and so on.

I’ll give you this: literally neither side gives a shit about the actual underlying problem: mental health. Over half of ALL gun deaths in the USA each year are from suicide. You don’t need an AR15 for that. Banning and removing all guns successfully won’t stop all those people wanting to be dead, but my fellow Democrats don’t care and the fascists sure don’t.

The second amendment protects the rights of civilians owning guns. And folks who are pro-gun tend to overwhelmingly lean right after years of bastardization from the left.

If anybody knew who any of these guys were, and worked out where they lived, I wouldn’t give them 24 hours. Eventually they’ll deport the wrong person and someone with a gun will decide that the ends justify the means, and that’ll be that. It will probably spark a massive military escalation on trump’s part, but it won’t matter to them.

Forget gangbangers. Protesters and activists should dress like ICE agents. Law enforcement are supposed to wear uniforms for two vital reasons:

        1. So civilians can know who is legitimate law enforcement.

        2. So law enforcement can know who is legitimate law enforcement.

ICE doesn’t give a shit about (1), as they figure they have enough fire power to kill anyone who tries to arrest or assault them for dressing up like thugs. But they’ve completely forgotten about (2), and in the process have made themselves incredibly vulnerable to nonviolent protest and disruption.

Forget holding signs. ICE has been rapidly expanded. Not only have the ranks swelled, but all sorts of people like militia members and bounty hunters have been deputized. Which means that not even the ICE agents on the ground are going to know who all is a member of ICE. They’re all wearing masks anyway.

In the heat of the moment, ICE agents don’t have any way of telling who an ICE agent is.

Forget holding up signs in protest. What really needs to happen is for every ICE raid to be swarmed by dozens of fake ICE agents. Normally using this tactic on law enforcement would be impersonating a police officer. But since ICE aren’t wearing uniforms, there’s nothing to impersonate!

Imagine if every ICE raid was accompanied by dozens randos showing up and just getting in the way and causing chaos. Show up dressed as masked ICE thugs. Collect some of the immigrants being detained, put them in your own unmarked cars, and let them go a few miles away. Walk into a raid site like you own the place and are meant to be there. Then start taking up space, giving contradictory orders, standing in doorways, just generally causing any kind of nonviolent chaos you can think of. Turn their whole raid into a giant shit show of a circus.

It’s time to weaponize ICE’s lack of identification. They don’t ID themselves to avoid accountability. But it’s time they were reminded of exactly why officers started wearing uniforms in the first place.
